Our season may have been a poor one and our club in a mess. But at least we will have the chance to support our club. Spare a moment for those that went to a match 29 years ago today and never made it home. RIP 96.

Should always remember fans who went to a football match and never returned whatever the day so just to "annoy" you further I would also like us to remember the lbrox 66 ( which going by your flag you surely do ) and the Burnden Park 33 😓....and I really don't think that it constitutes being called a clown you silly boy 😉

Well that didn’t take long to degenerate into name calling did it ? Who else was with me at Huddersfield 29 years ago? I watched the Huddersfield match with a friend who supported Rochdale. 3-1 with robbie painter scoring our goal. Got in the car afterwards to hear the bad news

I was there Norwegian blue, obviously back in the day no internet, mobiles etc all you had was what came over the car radio. On a more personal note one of the four of us in the car that day sadly died a few years later, a blue through and through who is still fondly remembered by all who knew him.

I remember being on the away end and someone had a radio and said that there was crowd trouble and Liverpool fans were at it. Little did we know the tragedy that unfolded. My cousin was at Hillsborough and was lucky to be pulled up into the upper tier of the Leppings Lane. It was the last Liverpool game he attended.

To be fair the night we went there in the FA Cup game (Gary Bennett/Ian Knight) I felt very uncomfortable in the centre section of that end and we all moved to the side section. But the worst ever was at the old Belle Vue (Donny Rovers) where you paid through the turnstile straight into a cage!!!

All disasters incredibly sad. I often reminisce about football in the old days - but my word, the way fans were treated was sometimes shocking - authorities were dicing with death - both Heysel and Hillsborough had already been flagged up as disasters waiting to happen and yet warnings were ignored.

Massive fences everywhere that seemed at best view-obstructing, at worst dangerous.

Terrible ground Yeah was fun that night at the Belle Vue. Lasting memories of that night were giving Ian Snodin abuse during his half time punditry work for Sky and that nutter in the high vis running from his own stand across the pitch to our end goading us after they equalised.

Seeing how far they have progressed with a big new stadium kinda hurts. So it's always worth reminding myself of the 4 goals Andy Milner scored against them in a 6 nil home win which relegated them to non league!
Bitter i know, but we don't have anything else to hold onto against them!

Still the following season made up for it (great tussle with Hereford). Wonder if they'll be in Conference North next season?
