It's like the money from the section 106 on the flats development. In theory it's going to the WST in practice they haven't had a bean. Yet more Geoff Moss deceipt. Also 'Tomos' (nice Welsh name btw) I'm still not convinced Cheshire and Chester West waiving a proper ground rent for the Exacta is much different given that Council budgets have been cut to the bone. The money received from disposing of the site could have secured an essential council service. So basically the club didn't receive any money from the sale of its ground (and Colliers park remember, built with the money from our FA cup quarter final run) it all going instead to our previous owner. Colliers park is still used almost exclusively by the University and we have to train somewhere else. Yeah we really did well from that whole deal. What the hell has this got to do with the OP Since when has a DC thread not veered away from the original topic?

Mate, Geoff fucking Moss didn't didn't give Wrexham supporters trust 5 quid let alone 500k It's like the money from the section 106 on the flats development. Geoff Moss may or may not have given WST £5 or £5m - it's his money and up to him. It was Glyndwr University that used more than £4.8m of public money and that concerns us all - we paid for it. CFC's deal with CWAC is commercial and to the benefit of both. Unlike Glyndwr, who according to the Times HE figures quoted earlier in the thread, lost £2.4million in the first three years of providing Wrexham FC with a home. Actually, Wrexham FC did very well indeed out the deal. The club had lived beyond its means for years. Moss had put a lot of money into it and was disappointed with the support he received. It seemed in 2011 that the club would fold and a phoenix club start in either the Evostik (sound familiar?) or the Welsh League. But then the university stepped in with public funding and feather-bedded a pretty smooth transition to carrying on as before. At public expense, at a time of crisis in the public sector in Wales.

I do get your point I just don't fully agree. That Glyndwr university, who draw a lot of funding from public money, spent a lot on the ground purchase and upkeep. There is a moral arguement against that I'm sure although I have no idea about the capital funding at GU or their other revenue streams and I'm sure you don't either. It's a bit simplistic to just say it's tax payers money. What you don't seem to get is that the ground was taken off the club after Marston's sold it to them, and a private individual profitted from that sale. The clubs new owners, the fans, have certainly benefitted from the University securing the ground from some sort of unscrupulous new owner but it's not come cheap and in the process we've also lost our training ground. Anyway this is boring. And we've veered well off the OPs thread. Jennings is getting a ban. No idea why it's deferred.

The ban begins 14 days after the decision of the panel in all cases, it's in the FAW constitution. Re the off topic stuff, you keep forgetting that GU now own an asset.

Thanks, That explains it. That they do. And Colliers park is being used by them even if the Racecoursewe currently isn't. When I was an u dergrad my university had a similar facility, which a local football league club used for its youth team training, and allowed the university to host FA coaching courses.
