Interested to gauge some opinions on his his recent efforts often deployed on the left side of midfield. It contradicts the reasoning for signing him in the first place but he's certainly thriving there at the moment.
Recently I make it:
Two assists v Dagenham Won penalty v Maidstone Assist v Maidstone (For Hughes goal) Goal v Southport Won penalty v Tranmere
He's not blessed with pace but is quite intelligent on the ball. I'd like to see Mahon back myself as well but that may well mean dropping Durrell. Thought I'd get a non controversial thread on the board to discuss our preferences for a change?! ☺

From the recent matches I've seen a lot of the opposition attacks seem to stem from the space that Horwood, Lloyd, durrell etc give and the general absence of tackles. We seem very lightweight. Wouldn't complain if we totally overhauled the midfield but don't see it happening. At least Joyce put in some early tackles but faded.

I think Evan is good at finding space and looking for a pass.

He's a decent attacking full back, no pace but he's an intelligent footballer not too great a defender.

Thought he had a good game on Friday. A bit surprised he was taken off.

Yes he's been reasonably effective. Decent footballing brain. I don't think our problems in midfield are due to the wide players such as Horwood or Durrell but more the central midfield. Shaw is good going forward, but George has been poor, Lloyd isn't really a defensive midfield tackler and Joyce is still off the pace, though improving.
Biggest disappointment has been George who I thought could've been our midfield general but this hasn't worked.
As we never control the midfield the wider players become superfluous. I thought the 3-5-2 formation worked for us in many ways; Hughes and Hunt especially with Horwood supporting Hunt. The exception was for Durrell as a wing back, so Macca changed back to 4-4-2 exposing Hudson and marginalising Hughes. We've really missed Vassell.
Think I've gone off topic....

He's a terrible left back, a decent leftsided midfielder but can't play anywhere else. Not the strongest tackler either. Think he was tried on the right at Woking with disastrous consequences. Given his age wouldn't lose any sleep if he left at the end of the season but wouldn't be too disappointed if he stays...as you say he's a clever player and can put in a sweet cross with the left foot. I guess it all boils down to whether we can get better for the money.
