The lad has said he would love to stay with the blues next season if the deal was right, he has a wife and family so has to put them first. It would be great if we could make it happen

Gary was great for us and would be a real asset, in assisting the younger players.

Deal has to obviously best for both parties but we've seen this season - he's far better than most of conference level let alone NCN. We won't get a better CM given our restrictions.
I've mentioned it before but surely the best idea and to justify any wage he receives is to combine a playing contract with a community coaching role.
The lad is well respected by youths in Blacon and could help in bringing in quality kids to our academy and/or getting young ones watching the club. He will connect better with estate kids and their parents than people not from within that area.

Would love it if he was here next season.
Maybe someone could sponsor a portion of his wages.

Was a massive gamble when he signed and he's proved he can be a decent player also won a lot of fans over
if we keep him and get a decent squad round him he could be a cracking player for us with uncertain of our Captain's future maybe put Gary as captain or vice Captain for next season if he stays

I’d like to see him back. I’d say he was pivotal to the emergence of Tom Crawford and he showed that he’s more than good enough for this level. However, it’s vitally important that he stays clear of lawnmowers. They can make a mess of anybody’s hand.

He's the sort of player we should have a squad builder for. Be good to have a fund and we have a say in how its spent.

Wish I had see him play. The club now know what he is like as a person so it's in their hands. As fans we don't know what he is like. We invent scenarios but we don't work with him daily. That is true of course with all our players. As fans we just don't know.

anyone know if he,s staying or going?? We don't know the retain list yet. I am sure Bernard is working on it but tbf he has an awful lot to do with Anthony Johnson being away in Florida. Fingers crossed we will get some news soon and I am sure Bernard is working as hard as he can to move things forward for the Club re player retained list and new signings.

It seems he realised the chance he got with us was ' last chance saloon' He's still young and no doubt could contribute but maybe new management need to meet and evaluate the situation with some fans input.

Not sure how going part time will influence Gary Roberts signing and any of the other players for that matter?? Last season we were able to offer some of the academy players professional full time contracts.... or am I wrong?

Very highly thought of by Ross Thorp judging by his tweet back to Dave Powell
"A top man and player, superb with the younger players development 🤞the club can get a deal done with him"

Would be a great sign of intent if we can get him signed up. Was dubious when he arrived, then got (harshly) sent off in the first game but pleased to say he has proved me wrong. I think the penny has dropped that he's running out of opportunities.

Sign him up. I think the last few months has shown he has plenty to offer on the pitch and behind the scenes. Much prefer this to an option of loanees with zero experience and zero affinity to our Club

Deal has to be right for both parties. With clubs spending big in our league and National you couldn't really blame him for moving on when he's got a young family to support. At the same time it's clear he's enjoying his time with us. It'll be a big decision towards then end of his career whether to cash in as much as he can or stay with us.

Think we're going to end up disappointed sadly. No we’re not 👍 Last I heard was that a manager elsewhere wanted to link back up with him. If things have changed since then, great.

Gary wants to stay he loves it at the club and he feels he's been made welcome by the fans and hops he can win more fans over he wants to put his footballing past behind him and show what he can do in a full season

If he plays a whole season the way he played for 3 months, he'll win over the remaining doubters. You're at home here Gary.
