Tribunal time....as we developed Tom and offered improved terms. The article says “undisclosed fee”, which I would’ve thought suggests that a figure has been agreed but not made public.

Signed for an undisclosed fee, which at least prevents the business of going to a tribunal.
I imagine we'll find out the fee in the end of year accounts, or at least the combined fee for Crawford and Jones if Jones also goes, as I can't see us receiving money for any other players!
Just hope we've got a decent sell on in there.

Best of luck to the lad. Would have been great if he’d stayed but we couldn’t have stood in his way. Hopefully a nice long-term bit of business.

Gutted we never got to see more of him in Blues shirt, but I hope he gets a chance at Notts County.
Would be good to try and get him back in loan if he doesn’t break into their first team straight away.

Good luck to him, hopefully a bit of the fee can be put in to giving Callum a salary that keeps him here.we need as a club to keep giving these young players a gateway in to the pro game, both to attracting the next intake and the financial benefits of selling the players on.

Money that unfortunately will be offset by subsidising moves for Hannah and James. Good luck to Tom though. A move that will hopefully see him getting decent time in a first team environment as opposed to any development squad bollocks.

Great news for the lad and the club, another product of the youth academy that has come up trumps, we should all be very proud of what they have achieved and will continue to achieve in the future.

Inevitable he was going to move on and this looks like a good step for him...wish him luck. Shame we didn't get to see more of him....will be interesting to see what fee we get and whether it justifies the cost of bringing players through, only for the good ones to move on quickly.

I thought the idea of an academy was to develop players for ourselves, not Notts County. I doubt the fee will be as much as we got for Alabi and will we ever find out if there is a sell-on clause? Disappointed for Chester FC, but delighted for Tom Crawford.

What club at our level can keep players that come through youth teams .Tom was going whether we got money or not its unfortunate he came into the team late in the season .if he had come in earlier there would have been plenty bidding for him

Disappointed for Chester FC, but delighted for Tom Crawford. A Club of our size, even Crewe's size we will always sell youngsters to better themselves otherwise it will stifle their career. Hopefully once we rise the leagues again more youngsters will come through and will be utilised more. The Conference North compared to the likes of League Two and where Notts County could be in the next couple of seasons shows Crawford has made the right decision, he will be a better player for it and if it all works out not only Crawford but ourselves will reap the benefits should he move elsewhere.

Congratulations Tom, well deserved. Tom's progress and performances were the highlight of the season. Unfortunately relegation killed whatever slim chances we had of keeping him. Ironically the failure of the more senior pros and our subsequent financial decline probably resulted in Tom's rise in prominence and exposure to bigger clubs scouts. Who knows what would have happened if we had had a successful season, perhaps we could have kept him for a further time. Looking forward to hearing about his on going development, and hopefully added benefit for Chester.

Disappointed for Chester FC, but delighted for Tom Crawford. I think this situation is a by-product of the Jon McCarthy experiment. If we'd had a competent manager and next season we were still playing in the national league Tom might well have stayed on for another season and improved his stock whilst also doing a job for us. Although it could be argued if we had a settled season last season the likes of Tom & James wouldn't have gotten more of a look in? The main thing is the sell on clause. Say, Tom hits the ground running and clubs further up start taking notice we could find ourselves getting a nice sum in return. Good luck to the lad. He totally deserves his chance in the Football League. Make us proud!

Well done Tom - richly deserved.
It's a great advert for our Academy too - young lads know that they can develop in our youth set-up, have a natural pathway into our first team and then maybe find themselves at Notts County / Leicester further down the line.
If you were an up-and-coming player, Chester would be an enticing prospect.

True, and Tranmere’s stupid decision to close their youth academy can only help us, as can the unfortunate bad publicity Crewe have found themselves attracting in the last year or so.

I am absolutely delighted for such a young talent in Tom. He has come on leaps and bounds since he graduated from our academy last year. I thought that it would be best for him to stay on for another season to get even more game time, but if he can get minutes under his belt at Notts County then good for him.
This will not only benefit him but it will benefit us as well. It’s good that we will receive some cash as we need every bit of money financially.
I really hope that this move will turn out for young Tom as he has loads of potential to have a successful career higher up. I’m sure that he will do our city proud, as he has done already. Good luck for the rest of your career Tom Crawford!

Pleased for Tom. He has chosen a well run club to join so he has every chance to further his career.
Our relegation means it is the right move for Tom and James Jones to move on. Next season will not provide the right type of playing environment for these lads to develop further.

He's too good for us at the end of the day and he's doing the perfect thing for his career by moving on, under the wing of a good central midfielder in his day as well. This is actually a brilliant example of why our academy is so appealing. Young lads will be seeing people moving on to bigger and better things. We may all be Chester fans, but most these kids won't be and they'll want to see Chester and their stepping stone and if we can boast the likes of Hughes and Crawford in the last two years were certainly not going to be short of talent wanting to come to Chesters academy.

Delighted for the lad, well deserved and made the right choice as apparently Everton were looking into him... Can't see the fee being as much as we are hoping for though, sadly.

But the most important thing is having add ons for these lads. Hope we've got a decent sell on clause and other incentives based on appearances etc as well.

Isn't it a 25 percent?
