I don't really start a lot of threads but did feel that it was worth recognising that there just seems to be a good feel around the club at the moment.
And it is such a transformation from the past 2 seasons, the end of the Burr regime, the disaster that was Jon McCarthy and the thoroughly underwhelming Marcus Bignot.
We have significant investment whilst retaining our fan owned model, there seems to be universal support that Bernard and Jonno are the right team to be leading us forward, season ticket sales are going well, there is a definite improvement in communication from the club on social media, and whilst I am not going to start making predictions for the season (I'd still be happy with a decent solid season where we win some home matches), it does feel like we are back on the up and maybe, just maybe we can look forward to enjoying a Saturday afternoon at the Deva again.
And we're playing Liverpool on Saturday!

You're right. Maybe not actually playing any games is the way forwards?

That may be so but if we lose against Liverpool, I'm not going again, I will cancel my season ticket and get all my friends to do the same and put it all over social media how badly this Club is run and how terrible this new management team and group of players are. Worst I've seen in years. FACT. Or maybe I'll just continue to support MY Club whatever happens in the future, win lose or draw, whatever League we are in and whoever is managing and playing for us simply because this is my club and I could not support anyone else. If we lose against Liverpool I’ll be calling for “board out” immediately!!!! Only because we’ve not heard that recently from the usual suspects...
Well done to all the volunteers in the ticket office the past couple of weeks (even the Chairman was there selling tickets - have you ever seen that before??)..
Just hope the pitch is ready!

It might be worth considering that the club may be in the current good position because of the public outcries from who you consider the “usual suspects”, rather than having a cheap shot at them. Too many people accepted and protected the turmoil situations of the past two years, so on reflection past criticism was mainly justified.

A note of caution is that there was quite a lot of optimism around this time last year as well.
From a personal point of view, the difference is that I didn’t understand why there was optimism back then. I do now, though we also need to be grounded at the same time.

I was on the pitch on Wednesday and it looked the best pitch I've ever seen. The lines were amazing and the colour was lush.

Well done to all the volunteers in the ticket office the past couple of weeks (even the Chairman was there selling tickets - have you ever seen that before??).. Just hope the pitch is ready! The turnaround of the Club since the end of the season only a few weeks ago and the evaporation of worries for the national league north campaign ahead has been quite startling - almost impossible to believe. Whilst the efforts of the volunteers and working groups have been brilliant, let’s not forget the incredible good fortune of the Stuart Murphy donation and very timely availability of a proven/popular management team in helping to significantly rebuild the feel good factor and restore many ordinary fans faith in the Club. Although the Club certainly seems to be on a much firmer commercial and financial footing and crucially communication has been improved with the fan base/membership. I also don’t think this is the time for complacency. You only have to think back to the very dark days or last season, and that CFU meeting in January with the real risk of imminent disaster resulting from the inaction and poor decision making of an ineffective board – several of whom are still in place.
