Quick bump for this as I'd like you all to be the first to know that The Card has been longlisted for the William Hill Sports Book Of The Year. Very exciting, and not bad for a shitkicker from Bouverie Street. More being printed soon, but there might be a few signed copies in the club shop. Otherwise, Amazon is your best bet. www.amazon.co.uk/Card-Steve-Hill/dp/1910906131Talking of which, I've been given a free £500 bet at William Hill, so if anyone has any tips... Stick it all on Chester to win the league, and congrats

Very enjoyable read and it brought back a few good memories. My postie mate Ghandi was mentioned a few times. He gets everywhere. 🙂

Superb book this!
As a Chester fan, it was great - relating to some of the people - certainly relating to the feeling of elation / despondency along the way.
Even for non-Chester fans this would be a brilliant read.
Well in thecard!

I am reliably informed that new copies of The Card are available in the club shop, now with William Hill Sports Book of the Year logo. Did I mention it's been longlisted for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year? It's been longlisted for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year.

Sadly, I've only got one copy. A few originals left on Amazon, I think. With any luck, the next edition will have the Shortlist logo, and then Winner. And Chester will win the League and the Trophy.

Thanks for the kind words. Again, if anyone fancies converting them into an Amazon review it all helps the algorithm, apparently.
Also some breaking news:I'm going on TalkSport at 2:30pm this Thursday to chat about the book. Turn on, tune in.

On holiday last week and read it again.
Well worth it as you pick some things up that you missed first time around.
Trust you've managed to find another driver to ferry you to games.

Seasonal reminder that you can still buy the book in time for Christmas - the best card you'll get this year. And thanks for all the kind words from various fans who have enjoyed it. It means a lot. Merry Christmas. www.amazon.co.uk/Card-Every-Match-Mile/dp/1910906131

A bit late to the party, but this was a superb read. Very well written, and very laugh at loud funny.
I wondered whilst reading it, just how many beers did you drink during that season? Surely its all documented? Maybe even the gin and tonics after getting home to Match of the Day? 😅
Is Pauline, the Chair of the Exiles always a little annoyed 😉?

Writing a sequel? Sure that was you behind the goal at Alty in the playoff.
