since the announcement of the investment by Stuart it seems to have gone very quiet on the fund raising front i know people are away on holiday etc but i hope we are not drifting into the mentality of " everything is ok now moneywise" i feel we as a club have missed out on the world cup and the chance to organise events and with it raise some funds for the club even more so now england are doing so well i did send an email to the fund raising committee ages ago suggesting some sort of fun day could be arranged to coincide with an england game but was told that planning permission is needed and that takes many months to be agreed and too late to arrange i realise nothing in life is simple to arrange but we need a regular income from events to "cash in "on the feel good factor which seems to have returned to the club COYB

Difficulty is, recent events have been poorly supported, car boot sale, Snowdon (which ended up being cancelled due to poor take up), Ghost Night. All these events take time and a lot of effort to set up but if not supported, it is difficult to keep putting them on. There is due to be an event in September which looks good but details are still being worked on.

An open day with a chance to meet the players and managers, pictures for the kids, maybe a youth v 1sts hour game, bouncy castle, face painting, hot dogs etc with bars and shop open would have drawn a great crowd in July, World Cup fever and all that.
Please accept this as the constructive criticism it is meant to be, but with all due respect, a walk up Snowdon and a £25 psychic night are a bit niche?

Accept your point Mark and it is fair. The two events are very different and certainly in the case of Snowdon the numbers were extremely low. Going forward, there maybe less events but the ones that do get put on will be bigger because they are likely to make more money for the Club. Like everything it's needs more volunteers to run them. Certainly my own time at the moment is extremely limited due to my own personal fundraising efforts for charity and would therefore recommend anyone with ideas and also more importantly the time available to help implement them to email fundraising@chesterfc.com
