Tomorrow evening we play our final away game of pre-season as we head across the North Wales coastline to play against Conwy-based Llandudno. It will be the first of two games in less than 20 hours as we face Bury on Saturday, so I imagine that our starting 11 against Llandudno will be weaker than the 11 that start against Bury. I think that most of the 11 against Llandudno will play 60 minutes on Friday and 30 minutes on Saturday, then most of the 11 against Bury will play 30 minutes on Friday and 60 minutes on Saturday as Bury will be a tougher test.
Llandudno had a poor season in the Welsh Premier League last time out as that finished 10th, but it will still be a good test for us with them playing on a 4G surface. I’m looking forward to this now so hopefully we can keep up our good away record. Come On City! Score: Llandudno 1-1 Chester FC (Howson) Attendance: 178 (95 Chester) COYB!

A bit harsh to say they had a poor season given the transformation thats taken place at the club. Only their 3rd season playing at that level also.

Everything I’ve seen said 0-4.
Don’t suppose anyone managed to film any of the goals?

Another really good display by us last night, and one I thoroughly enjoyed. It was just refreshing to watch us playing nice, crisp football on the FLOOR, which is much more comfortable than the constant hoof ball we have had to endure over the last 2 or so years. Throughout the match we dominated proceedings as we had quite a few chances in the first half. However, the floodgates soon opened up as we managed to find the net 4 times in 20 minutes in the second period with 3 of the goals being scored by present and past youth team players.
As we face a tougher test against Bury today, the squad who played last night was predominantly weaker than the side that should play this afternoon. Although the likes of Gary Stopforth, Matty Hughes, Gary Roberts and Jon Moran played, the rest of our team was made up of younger players (Nathan Brown, Matty Thomson, Alex Downes etc.). It was nice to see both our senior and younger first team players mixing together to produce a high scoring result, as they all worked hard throughout. This goes to show that we are forming a very competitive team as even our younger first team players are showing promising signs very early on. Again, it was only a pre-season friendly, but it gives us more confidence that we can start off strongly as our recent results have been promising, whilst we have now started to find the net more regularly (which we haven’t really said much in recent times).
Now though, we can look forward to 3 successive home games against sides who will provide tougher tests than the likes of Runcorn, Llandudno and Ramsbottom. It will be interesting to see how we fare off against Bury, Morecambe and Everton Under-23’s.

That the youngsters can destroy an experienced Llandudno side bodes well for the coming season .
