Boreham Wood have got into a bit of a scrap with the agent of one of their players. They’ve put out a statement which you can find here tinyurl.com/y9p6pwzwFrom that I’m inclined to side with them despite them charging for the privilege of being allowed to commentate on the game & the like. It does seem slightly odd that they rejected the AFC Wimbledon offer though.

No doubt agents should be regulated thoroughly. I find it galling that they can make so much money by basically ensuring their client moves around.

Although I feel for BW in the way this is going, you cant help feeling that the open letter is nothing more than an attempt at a retaliatory act rather than a information communication. What on earth has the agents age got to do with anything "Disrupted by a young 25-year-old agent "
Sounds like Ferrier has made an uniformed choice about his new agent and he is obviously not as amenable as his last one, him and BWFC are welcome to each other.

They are in breach of contract from reading that. If the clause in the contract is a £35,000 fee plus 20% sell on then it doesn't matter what Tranmere offered them for him if that's the clause in the contract then they cannot refuse the offer from Wimbledon. The rest of the statement is just an angry rant which avoids tackling that key piece of information.
Ah sorry I've Re read it. The clause is a £35,000 minimum fee with sell on clause to be negotiated between the two clubs sounds like sell on clause is where the two have come unstuck.

The whole thing seems to be agitated by the change of agent. Surely the new agent whatever his age, should abide by any agreement that has already been negotiated. Borehamwood are not universally liked, but on this occasion I would back them any day against essentially people who take money out of the game for no tangible benefit to anyone but themselves.

In reading the contract it clearly states “another club” in the singular, and makes no further provision for a second or multiple club offers. Accordingly the initial offer by Tranmere appears to have fully satisfied the terms of the contract, in which case a second approach falls outside of the terms and there is no contract coverage remaining for this approach. BWFC appear legally correct in their stance and that the player has been ill advised by the new representative. No doubt Tranmere will now be pursuing their legal interest in this process. Interesting case and I hope that football wins over greed. Now, of course Tranmere may not have the same desire to sign a player who has had his head turned.

They seem to like putting out statements and playing the victim. Still, this is quite a well-worded one compared to the puerile rant they put out when we wouldn’t pay their broadcasting fee.
No doubt that some agents are scum though.

No doubt that some agents are scum though. Not sure about well worded. They repeat themselves quite a few times. But I agree with the general point they are making. Wonder if it's the same agent that has advised James Alabi over the last couple of years? Unfortunately some footballers aren't the sharpest tools in the shed and get easily led and taken advantage of from knobhead agents. There really needs to be some tighter regulations on stuff like this.

Fair play to the lad. I hope this also serves as an example to other non-league players to be careful of these rogue agents.

I'm not really sure what BWFC are complaining about?
Seems AFCW have met the transfer fee and offered a significant sell %.
I wonder why the contract wording leaves ambiguity about the sell on %, seems to me like a ploy on BWFC's part to pick and choose which offers they accept despite seeming like he has a clear cut release clause.
It seems natural that the player might prefer moving to Wimbledon from BW rather than Tranmere as it's much closer.
So while the agent's language seems very out of order, it would seem also like BW have been a little sneaky with the wording of their contract and are using that to the detriment of the player.
