No welshman has ever won a world championship formula one race, never mind the title See Thomas Maldwyn Price Won the 1975 race of champions at Brands Hatch NOT a part of the world championship but a stand alone race, much as the Oulton park Gold Cup races used to be Many non World championship races took place for Formula one cars from the fifties to the seventies Indeed the British Aurora AFX F1 championship and Shellsport Group 8 series run between 1976 and 1980 were for F1 cars I could not be sure of the nationalities of many of the winners of these races hence i inserted the words WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, ensuring my statement was correct

Must admit my all time favourite F1 driver was Olivier Panis, so what do I know 🤔 Yes, sorry if my first post seemed to belittle anyones sporting achievements as this was not my intention Anyone who had the balls to race an F1 car on those death traps that passed for a race circuit in the 70s has my greatest respect Mr Price had a great talent and clearly could and should have won world championship races F1 races, thanks to that tragic and needless accident we shall never know Oh and I am truly made up by Geraints fantastic win in the Tour de France, hopefully he can go on and repeat the feat in future

Can you imagine with all the fitness and saving weight we have nowadays them letting him anywhere near a touring car?
