And why has the ref not got a can of spray in this league ? Can't cost all that much surely !!! Twice today he paced them back 10 yards, and by the time he'd gone back to the ball, they'd nicked a few yards.
Listened on SealsLive and you could clearly hear the loud cheers for Jimmy Soul putting up the board for added time 😂 strange that it's such a step down (no player names or numbers, no spray, no fourth official) despite it being under the same league association or whatever.
Just wondered. No 4th official today so presume this is standard for the league. What happens if the ref gets injured during the game?
There was a midweek home match in our first season after reforming when Cleggie had to appeal for a qualified official to come forward at half-time to run the line due to an injury. Would guess the same procedure would apply now.
Must admit, the lack of a fourth official and no names on back of shirts did take a bit of getting used to again today after five years.

Not what I heard either but if he did say that then it obviously is a joke isn’t it?
As Si said. He said Jimmy Soul end of - but Rio you really ought to think before you post at times. Jimmy Saville??? FFS.
It’s not my thinking at all- I genuinely thought that he said the wrong name, otherwise why else would I bring it up? Anyway, I unreservedly apologise for any inconvenience caused. Maybe I need to get my hearing checked lol.

If no one is found then the game has to be called off. As stated above we got a fan to finish one game in the glue leagues although it was announced that they had to be a qualified FA official, he did better than the proper one!

At our level I'm not sure linesmen are mandatory. The National League Laws of the Game just say that "two assistant referees may be appointed to help the referee officiate the match" which suggests that technically a match could be played without them.
If the ref got injured and there was nobody to replace him, I think it would be acceptable to make one of the linesmen the main ref and have the other one run the line for the whole pitch on his own. Not ideal but better than calling a match off.
