No pies or anything left that was worth eating in the kiosks (only one open on the Harry Mc, why?), no real ale in the BB, no bin bags around the pitch, and no goals. Can it get any worse!
Seriously, glad to have my club still alive to support, great that the season has finally started, but the kiosks and blues bar were an absolute disgrace today, have Dougherty and Allen given up trying or something?

Took 2 mates from work to the game today for their first match at the Deva. They both really enjoyed the experience and plan to come regularly, but one of their complaints was the fight for a pint in the Blues Bar. They couldn’t believe the serving area was so small. We all agreed today was a perfect day to have had a beer tent outside to take the pressure off the bar area. Not sure what is happening with Stuart’s investment but would love if we can make the bar a better experience.....we must lose a lot potential income each game from people who are put off by it.

Have never understood why Dougherty and Allen were put in charge of the bar and kiosks. They're a fine dining company which means they are good at what they do running the Legend's Lounge but the bar and kiosks clearly aren't their priorities. Unfortunately it reflects in a pretty poor offering for the average punter.

The Chester pie was always pretty nice, don't know if they still well it. Seems to be that they have issues stocking the kiosks though, quite often running out of things. And get some beer in for God's sake, it's easy money.

It was rammed by the bar yet loads of empty spaces around the BB. Maybe needs an extra member of staff on to reduce the overcrowding around the bar.
Bar does need sorting out. Hopefully the plans to expand start to come good in the next few weeks/months

It's a really big problem on the occasions when we have a half decent crowd, surely there must be some cost effective ways of improving the experience.

i was surprised that there was one kiosk open in the HM. A decent gate was expected so I can only assume there was some sort of technical issue.
The Blues Bar is a pain in the arse to be honest. I’m hoping that this is one of the priority areas being identified for improvements, but i guess that any work would have to be done next summer. A beer tent and BBQ area would be a great temporary idea.

Only 3 members of staff in blues bar serving. First game of season should of been at least another two serving. No feathers either. I also gave up trying to get something to eat in the Harry Mac as the queue took too long. On the whole rubbish but first game of the season there are always hiccups, least it was played this year not like last season thanks to Solihull.

Hopefully we’ll lose a few games soon and the crowds will start to go down then we’ll all be able to get a beverage in good time

A little frustration for sure but remember we still have a club this season, good manager people in and a damn good looking squad. Let’s extenuate the positives and not cry rancid generals after one game only.

The catering outside of the legends lounge has always been a bugbear of mine since we reformed. I'm passionate about food and to see the type of rubbish on offer for families around the ground is really frustrating. Many people look for something more than a crap hotdog or a packet of crisps these days. Hopefully Stuarts investment will see the layout of the blues bar vastly improved and better catering options provided as I genuinely believe that this will help improve our appeal to a new audience.

Early days but always a good sign of how the team is doing when people are complaining about the pies or beer queues instead. I wonder if this is all a cunning plan by the board...we all know that unless Chester fans have something to moan about they are not happy.,

I queued for the bar for about 10 minutes, but then gave it up. Had a coffee instead. Thoroughly enjoyed the other than the performances of the two wing backs, When you consider there were 10 players making their debuts.

Short term, fit a rail in front of the bar with entrance at on end and exit at the other. Stops congestion at the bar as well as jumping the queue. Always worked in working men’s clubs. Longer term, and higher cost remodel the bar. Why not single out the most popular drink and serve it from a satellite as well as the main bar?

They need to bring that temporary bar back that stood to the right of the kitchen door, it took pressure off the main bar.
Lost money in the BB yesterday, people either walking away or, like us, getting a pint in but not even attempting to get a second. Three people serving on the first day of the season is poor all you need is a barrel change or for the card machine to go missing, which it did at one point, and you're then down to two.
Obviously we can't complain too much but we've had about 8 years since reforming to try and fix the BB issue and we never really have. I know the LL has always been given all the priority but we can't keep overlooking the BB - it would make us more money if we knew what we were doing.

The queue at the Blues Bar was a shambles yesterday. I was really surprised to see no bottle bar in operation so gave up and went into the ground 45 mins before kick off expecting to get a bottle at the kiosk only to be told then have not had permission to sell alcohol even though they are aware of the ruling at this level. I am assuming this permission has to be agreed by the SAG?
After the match The Blues Bar was even more hectic. So gave up and sneaked in The Legends Lounge where there was no queue. The girl behind the bar refused to serve me as i was not a LL member ( and rightly so) so i asked a member to get the beer. Not a problem.
We then went back downstairs and had consumed that pint before the rest of my mates had even been served.
This is not a criticism of D&A but an observation to highlight problems which they will need to overcome if they dont want to lose business.
Recommendations would be to re install the bottle bar.
Get the correct permission to sell alcohol in the kiosks.
More staff urgently in the Blues Bar to cope with the demand even if that means utilising staff from the Legends Lounge to cope with the demand of the Blues Bar.
I noticed we have now got Sky which was showing the TV guide while i was there, have we lost the remote control as there didn't appear to be any programmes being shown. I take it this is an expensive monthly cost so it would be good to get the best use of it. It may even attract more pre match and post match business but only if the other issues are sorted.

There was a rubbish bag in both usual spots at north end of West Stand. We used them.

No bin bag where I stated, and I was there from 2.05 until the end of the match. If you don’t see it you don’t use it!

I mean the one nearest to the home dugout, adjacent to where the wheelchairs sit. Perhaps I should just ask you where the nearest bin is next time!

Think this may have been an odd one as one of my lads spent half the game hiding behind the bin in front of B block!! Definitely a bin bag in that one as was desperately hoping Alfie wouldn't show me up by fishing something out of that bin to eat! If you've ever taken a 4 year old to a match, please tell me what tips you have for keeping them entertained, anyone seeing me yesterday must have had a good laugh seeing me trying to sprint after him behind Bern and Jono's dugout! Ruddy roasting in a shirt and tie!

If you email info@chesterfc.com and give them your seat number somebody will come to your seat at the end of the next game and take your rubbish off you and put it in the bin for you. Hope this is ok?
