This sit com was reported as the most watched programme 14 years after it concluded.
I must confess I've never watched one minute of it. Would I be right in guessing it was typical American shite?

Friends is brilliant. I suppose it has a connection with those of a certain age. Still funny on repeated viewings, easy to watch.
Seinfeld is the greatest US sitcom of all time. Perfect.

Modern Family is probably the best sitcom to ever come out of the States.

I don’t think Friends has aged very well. A good example being how often Ross’s ex being a lesbian gets roars of laughter.
Frasier on the other hand seems funnier now than ever.

I don’t think Friends has aged very well. A good example being how often Ross’s ex being a lesbian gets roars of laughter. Frasier on the other hand seems funnier now than ever. The laughter is always directed at Ross and his reaction, not at the fact that his ex is a lesbian or that there is anything wrong with being a lesbian. I think it handles the situation really well and did wonders to promote and normalise homosexuality, especially expressing that it's ok for gay couples to raise a child. Friends was written at a time when these topics were only just making it onto our screens. It reflected the issues, debates and discourse of the time and was/still is very funny.

and while we're talking about US sitcoms, nothing comes close to Curb your Enthusiasm.
