After watching Josh Wright score a hat-trick of penalties on The EFL Goal Rush programme last night, George Riley asked Alan Curbishley and Adam Virgo if they had ever seen or heard of such a feat. Although both said no, I clearly remembered witnessing Chester beating Peterborough United 4-3 in the 70's, with all three Peterborough goals being scored by the same player from the penalty spot. I also vividly remember Alan Oakes scoring a 30 yard 'thunderbolt' (which he often did). Having checked various databases, the said hat-trick of penalties was scored by Peterborough's Alan Slough. Do any of our 'senior fans' recall the said game ?

I remember this quite well. Think it was the last game of the season. Always remember at the end of the game "The Little man" as I called him used to take the referee a drink or snack if he wanted anything. On this occasion he was so disgusted he refused to look after him

I missed that match because I'd just got married. Some high scoring matches against Posh inc the 8-2. How many others have seen both 8-2s? I think that season was the highest we ever finished in Division 3 as it was then.

If I remember correctly York lost their keeper when we were two up and no subs in those days.

My first game was in April 1960 and I don't remember that one Billy. Was it before that?

Remember the 8-2 when Mick Hollis scored 4 and in the next home game on the Wednesday we put 4 past Colchester we were on fire 😲

I've got a vague memory of Peter Zelem scoring three penalties against Bolton in the freight rover but it may have been a dream.....

I remember that game, it was our highest finish ever and the same year we beat Wrexham 2-1 away in front of 20,000. I also seem to remember one of our fans going on the pitch to attack the ref at some point. I think we got fined for that? Cracking time to support the blues.
