Yay! The Cheshire Senior Cup is the best of all the cup competitions Is this due to the fact we actually win a game in this cup occasionally. Honestly our cup records are awful of late, I’ve seen 8 straight FA cup defeats now.

Even in the Cheshire Senior Cup our record is pretty awful. We’ve won it four times in about 150 years.

Wasn't it Witton at home last season when we conceded a penalty after 6 seconds - a world record?

Was running a bit late, legged it ( not easy at my age! ) and just got my seat as they were kicking off - wished I hadn’t bothered two panted breaths later!

Wasn't it Witton at home last season when we conceded a penalty after 6 seconds - a world record? Yes, in the FA Trophy. Best laugh I've had at the match in years. Joe Johnson, a now National League ref, was officiating and he was spectacularly awful. Bookings left, right and centre for innocuous fouls. Three red cards and two penalties in a match that finished 2-1. Convinced to this day he was doing it on purpose. Golden.

It was clear that their lad was going to get sent off as he was gradually getting more and more wound up. When he walked off he put his shirt over his head and headed straight for the corner flag. I think it was Alabi who pointed him in the right direction! As for the start... I bombed it across town, ran into the stadium and just about got to my seat in time. Got myself comfortable - put my programme in my pocket etc - and when I looked up they had a penalty. I didn't even know the match was underway! Had to laugh really.

Well, I enjoyed watching us win the cup in the wind at Wilton v. Stalybridge. Our record is poor since the cup started in 1980. One final appearance in all those years. It was a remarkable winning goal from Tony Gray given the acute angle and the howling wind.

Chester FC have been drawn at home to Witton Albion in the Cheshire Senior Cup Preliminary Round today with the tie taking place on W/C 29th October. that gives us plenty of time to put together a contingency plan, ask witton now if we can switch the game, if not lets upsticks and get to vauxhall's

Does this mean the home game against Ashton on the 30th is to be postponed?

Does this mean the home game against Ashton on the 30th is to be postponed? The league would be in more favour than the cup so the cup game could take place a week later.

I'd rather just forfeit than have to rearrange a league match - especially a Saturday one. We've had enough of that already! Anyway, we'll probably just play the academy lads.

Pretty sure the Cheshire Cup always took priority over league fixtures on our way up the leagues.

Yes it is, was making the point that even the Cheshire Cup does - posts above seem to be dismissing it.
