So great news that he's withdrawn his application for a place on the board, but in light of everything, can he really keep his place in the Fundraising Working Group etc?

Seem's like a thoroughly unpleasant and unlikable character from what i've read on here BUT although i cannot agree with him on any of his personal opinion's he is entitled to to them.Perhaps the club could think his public views bring the club into disrepute?
Given his background that many people seem to be aware of going back many year's he has still been welcomed to the fundraising committee.
And if he support's the like's of Tommy Robinson and like's to attend swinger's club's such as Retros(as mentioned in one of his tweets) well that's business isnt it however unpleasant and sleazy many find it.
However i wouldnt be upset to see a raving bigot booted out.

He's a volunteer on a committee so unsure if he can be "sacked" per se. Suppose if it had a detrimental impact on the Fundraising working group then he could be asked to kindly step aside, although you would think he wouldn't need to be asked. He did organise the Ratcliffe evening at the Slowboat to be fair to him - perhaps he finds "those immigrants" OK...?

Needed if a word is shortened by omitting a letter: don't, isn't, that's, wouldn't
OR if indicating possession/ownership: my son's season ticket; my sons' season ticket (if more than one son)
NOT needed when the word simply happens to end in an s: likes, brings, seems etc NOT needed when the word is plural: years, businesses, houses etc
If in doubt, leave it out would be my advice but the apostrophe is sometimes important, as we saw in the original thread about PC Evans when the poster stated: I will rip up my season ticket and my two sons. In that case sons is plural but also possessive so it should be sons' otherwise the meaning is entirely different
It does sometimes get tricky but it does irk me (yes, I'm very sad) when people just scatter them around randomly
So your original post, with correct apostrophes, would read: Seems like a thoroughly unpleasant and unlikeable character from what I've read on here BUT although I cannot agree with him on any of his personal opinions he is entitled to them. Perhaps the club could think his public views bring the club into disrepute? Thanks for not taking offence BTW.

It's a tough one. I kind of think if you shut people out because of their views and behaviour, you strengthen their position. Where do you draw the line? If someone can't be in the FWG because of their views, should they be a member of CFU at all?
Perhaps the mature thing to do is accept that we can't agree on everything, and that we don't even have to like each other, but we are working towards a common aim. I think he would have been a PR disaster as a director, but haven't got a problem with him helping the club raise funds. Doesn't change my view that he seems a very unpleasant man.

Not sure if it's true but somebody told me on Saturday the Slow boat night is off. Apologies to all if that is incorrect. Sounded like a decent night to be fair.

Just to confirm on behalf of the Fundraising Team: The Slowboat night is on and tickets are still available. The team has put a large amount of effort into the evening and we hope it will raise a significant amount for the club.
While everyone has a right to their private lives, the club has a code of conduct which includes respect and inclusion of people from all backgrounds. That code applies to everyone who represents the club in an official capacity including volunteers on Working Groups.
