Over the years its always been the same - on the back of a good performance the stage is set - possible back to back home wins a larger than normal crowd and we put on a disjointed display like that - I sometimes despair its so predictable . FC United were very poor but we didn't trouble them- their keeper could have put a bib on and eaten a Christmas dinner in the 6 yard box without being disturbed- Why take off the most effective player in Mahon ?? I think that annoyed me more than a comprehensive defeat if you know what I mean !

That’s football Fred. Crap boring game, it happens. Move on, take the point, and forget tonight happened.

No lack of effort tonight Fred, but the quality of passing and the final ball was piss poor. As you say their keeper was rarely tested. Disappointing, frustrating certainly but we move on to Saturday, and at least we kept a clean sheet.

Couldn’t fault the effort tonight. There was just that little spark of quality missing for me. FC United weren’t that great and will be very happy with a point. Bit of a stalemate all in all. Fans booing at half time standing in the Harry Mac really need a reality check and should give their heads a wobble!

And WHEN are the managers going to get somebody who can actually play at centre forward??

I can't remember Shenton making a save of any description? Their keeper made one good stop in the first half (was it Dudley?). The frustrating thing for me was that this move was exactly the sort of thing we were practising before the match - a little give and go and then a first time effort. Before the game we were on fire. I even commented to my mate that I hope we save some for the game itself!
