Took this pic as flew over the Swansway Deva Stadium earlier this week. Neat and tidy, but really shows how far away from the city we are. It also shows that the space to the right of the ground about where there has been many discussions on all weather pitches etc is perfectly feasible. Chester council have long since mooted (on record since mid 60s) about another bridge across the river at this point, so no development could take place in case the new bridge materialised. Really cant see this happening now, so additional facilities for CFC/The community in general could be developed in this space.

That large circular green space would be a great location for the stadium wouldn't it

View AttachmentThe latest proposal is for the bridge to be further down Sealand Road going over to Broughton. The old proposal dates back to the 60s and involved building a road next to the railway line in Saltney. As that land has been developed the route past the stadium will never happen. So it could easily be used by the club.

Without knowing much about planning applications and who owns what, who owes the land around the stadium, council or farmers? Wouldn't any land closer to the river be more of a flood risk too?

Council own all that land, it was purchased from the Gorst family (as in Gorst Hill) who owned all the farmland around there back in the 70s.
