Following on from our impressive win yesterday, we will find out our opponents at 13:00 tomorrow afternoon as the FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round draw is set to take place. The ties for this round will commence on Saturday 6th October where we could be in with the chance of playing infront of the national cameras (if we get an appealing draw). Again, this draw will be regionalised so we won’t have to travel too far if we play away. No new teams will enter the FA Cup at this stage, so only the winners out of this weekends matches will participate in this round to reduce the numbers a little.
I’m actually set to fly out to Iceland for a few days which will clash with our FA Cup tie, hence I will be forced to miss my first Chester FC match of the season. In a selfish kind of way, I hope that we draw someone at home so I won’t miss out a great deal, or at least away to a place where I’ve been to before. Also, a home tie will ensure that we benefit financially so let’s just wait and see. The likes of Kidsgrove Athletic and Peterborough Sports are still in this competition so hopefully we will gain a favourable tie. We could get anyone really, but my prediction is a home tie to Neil Young’s Marine where I’m sure that he would receive a warm reception.

Anyone know if the draw is live anywhere or do we just have to wait for an announcement?

Anyone know if the draw is live anywhere or do we just have to wait for an announcement? TalkSport don’t seem to be covering it so the best way to find out is by following the Chronicle (Cheshire Live’s) live blog.

The boffins on the Non-League Matters forum reckon we’re in this half of the draw:
01 Chester (6NN) 02 Ashton United (6NN) 03 Curzon Ashton (6NN) 04 Southport (6NN) 05 Kidsgrove Athletic (8NP1W) 06 Guiseley (6NN) 07 Stockport County (6NN) 08 Workington (7NPP) 09 Cleethorpes Town (8NP1E) or Bamber Bridge (7NPP) 10 York City (6NN) 11 Marine (7NPP) 12 Dunston U.T.S. (9NL1) 13 F.C. United of Manchester (6NN) 14 Nantwich Town (7NPP) or Blyth Spartans (6NN) 15 Bradford (Park Avenue) (6NN) 16 Chorley (6NN) 17 Witton Albion (7NPP) 18 Altrincham (6NN) 19 Consett (9NL1) or Warrington Town (7NPP) 20 Sutton Coldfield Town (8SL1C) or Alfreton Town (6NN) 21 Peterborough Sports (8SL1C) 22 St. Ives Town (7SLPC) or Grantham Town (7NPP) 23 Kidderminster Harriers (6NN) 24 Stourbridge (7SLPC) 25 Hednesford Town (7NPP) 26 St. Neots Town (7SLPC) 27 Nuneaton Borough (6NN) or Brackley Town (6NN) 28 Corby Town (8SL1C) 29 Kettering Town (7SLPC) 30 Mickleover Sports (7NPP) 31 Gainsborough Trinity (7NPP) 32 King's Lynn Town (7SLPC) 33 A.F.C. Telford United (6NN) 34 Buxton (7NPP) or Coalville Town (7SLPC)
If that’s accurate, I suppose home to someone like Dunston or Peterborough Sports would be ideal.

Suppose the nightmare draw would be Chorley away, especially since it would mean going there two weekends in a row!

We had the misfortune when we previously played at this stage in 2012-13 to get just about the hardest draw possible when paired with Halifax. This time around would hope the draw is more favourable, would happily take something like Kidsgrove at home.

Home to anyone please.
Those who say they want an away tie because it’s near to where they live or because some couple from Worksop that they met in Benidorm in 2007 said they were welcome to stay at their bungalow at any time need to give their heads a wobble.

In true FA Cup fashion who fancies us to pull out Marine and reunite with NY? Or Southport and McCarthy.

Peterborough Sports at Home. How on earth do they end up in the Northern half of the draw? Peterborough is north of Birmingham, but definitely feels like the South. Notice they won 2-0 at Boston on Saturday

As Simon Grand said in a recent interview, I'll have the lowest ranked team at home please until we are the lowest ranked team then I'll have the highest ranked team away.

80 fixtures to be drawn out - 34 in the North and 46 in the South. The likelihood of us getting a tougher tie against a fellow NLN club is far higher than the same thing happening to NLS sides.
