Turns out he’s alright if he plays in his natural position.

Typical winger 1 game in 2. When he is great he is great, when he isnt you wont see him.
Love watching players encouraged to run at the opposition with the ball.

Disagree with that somewhat, his workrste has improved a lot under the duo. He is tracking back and pressing better and looks much fitter.

Love the Irish magician. He really gets us. Shame he's had a couple of poor seasons but is back on top form now. Go on Marnie!

Guilty of overdoing it today. Lost the ball for their fourth goal.

Guilty of overdoing it today. Lost the ball for their fourth goal. This league is definitely his level rather than national league. As has been said, he is giving much more protection to the defenders than he used to and seems to be working much harder. the problem - invariably he over complicated things, or tries to take on one two many players and often has a poor final product. If he could sort that then he’d be our star player and probably national league standard.

Hero to zero yesterday. Absolute peach of a pass to Smalley to create our first goal. Then overdoes it in an attacking position and 10 seconds later we're 4-3 down. Mind you, I still think it was a foul by their player which allows him to score.

I think he's playing a more direct game so it's more noticeable now. Credit to the managers for getting the best out of him and a level of consistency I haven't seen before. Until yesterday...

Wasn’t there on sat but the goal we conceded late at guiseley was as a result of him over complicating things and losing the ball as well late on in the game. It’s game management and he needs to learn to switch off the jinks and keep it simple when we cant afford to concede late in a game

Can't speak for the others Glanaber, but I was just describing what happened. It was about Craig Mahon, so I put it in this thread

I don't think I would go that far. He is a good player having his best season for ages. But consider the circs. It is 3 3 in a game we don't have to win on the day. We are playing poorly and down to ten men. We have brought defenders up for a corner. Mahon goes unnoticed at the corner of the box and receives the ball. He has opportunity to put it in 6yd box, but no he twists and turns and loses the ball , we have no one who is quick enough to get back, their number 9 has the simple task of beating Shelton. Maybe Craig is not to blame. The management should be seeing this game out. We should never have lost that game after being up at half time. Something is wrong. Dreading Spennymoor and Darlo. 800 miles. 12 goals conceded so far.

Listening to Kevin Keegan saying how he ws kicked so much and had nontime to show his quality at lower league level. Shone once protected. I would say Mahon could do with playing proper footaall at a higher level. The one player who has natural quality.

Spot on - don't forget he absolutely terrorised a League One defence a couple of seasons ago.
