Is it just me or does anyone else think the approach to the ground is looking a little dishevelled these days? Long grass and overgrown in areas. Can the club not pay a contractor to clean it up? Failing that, have the club got any ground maintenance equipment that some volunteers could use to give it the once over? I would be willing to come along to help mow and tidy up

Can we just get a couple of goats on the land to keep the grass short?

Can we just get a couple of goats on the land to keep the grass short? We had a few of them there on Wednesday but they were useless

I have cut the bigger areas just the banks that need strimming and weeding to be done but at the moment 99% of my time is out on the pitch as we now train on the pitch twice a week plus games like this week means a quick turn around i dont have alog of equipment so do my best with what i have got. The pitch takes 4 hours a day at least as it is a good 5 mile walk behind a cylinder mower . I am paid for 37 hours so all time at moment is on the pitch.

So would this be the perfect time to see if some volunteers could come and help, as forestblue asked? And definitely get someone in to do the car park!!

Absolutely mind boggling, the football must be going well, Ffs seriously the grass by the car park looks dishevelled, who cares, Bazza, doing a fantastic job with the pitch keep it up, personally I don't care if the grass by the car park ends up looking like a meadow, we don't play on that

I think we're missing the point here. And yes the groundsman does an excellent job on the pitch. But outside does look tatty. We're a fan owned club so let's arrange a tidy up day just like the church's do with there ground's. Instead of criticism do something about it. It's our club after all.

Looking to encourage others to come and use our facilities and attract new business, fans and potential investors. What sort of impression does it give on the approach to the club if it looks dishevelled? Lots of work has been done to improve the ground over the past few years, when it started to look run down. Bazza does a great job of the pitch and I was not suggesting he does the outside too. I am groundsman for a local cricket club and know the relief if someone comes and gives me a hand. I am willing to come and volunteer and spend a winters day clearing weeds etc. Just a small contribution to the club.

Must admit I was driving by the other day and there was waste wrapping material from a well known takeaway chain adorning the car park.
