Striker Nathan Brown returned to Chester FC on Wednesday following his month-long loan at Colwyn Bay. He gained regular football out there so hopefully he will be fighting for a starting spot soon.

Good. The goal against Bromley shows that he has got it.
Matty Hughes is going to be very very difficult to replace but Brown can go some way to filling the huge gap left by Hughes' injury.

I'd say he can go about a quarter of the way to filling the huge gap! #pocketrocket
Seriously though he deserves a shot back in the first team.

Much as I like Brown, I would seriously like to see Lloyd Marsh-Hughes be given the chance of a run in the side. Strength, speed, awareness and strong in the air.
Today is the perfect opportunity, Mani gone back, Deane Smalley and Anthony Dudley struggling for form, and no longer needed for FAYC duty.
"If you dont put them in, you cant know what youve got" as Matt Busby said.

I agree about Lloyd, but I don't think Dudley is necessarily struggling for form, more he's being asked to play in a system that doesn't suit his strengths.

I think Lloyd is quicker than Nathan... and LOT stronger.

I just dont see it with Brown, when you are diminutive you have to make up for it with pace, skill or low-centre strength. I've no doubt he is a good technical footballer who may do well in somewhere like the WPL or alliance and carve out a career like McManus did, but i'm happy to put my neck on the block and say i can't see it here.

I'm in the same boat as you, too small and lightweight. Would happily be proven wrong though.

Yeah would probably agree with that. He's definitely a tricky player but to be that small and do well then you really need to be exceptional and probably further ahead in his development than what he is. Would love to be proven wrong, and I certainly think he's worth a bit of game time just to properly test him, especially as we're struggling in that area at the moment. Marsh Hughes is a different kettle of fish though, looks like he has all the attributes to carve out a career in the game and I personally would like to see him start against Southport.

Agree, albeit I have a slight concern on our management's attitudes to youth, after such a positive start with Iwan, overlooking Noble and putting in Pritchard was baffling in the extreme as was the decision Saturday to go with Deane when we were crying out for some pace to stretch them.
