As the festive period approaches, Chester FC and Chester FC Community Trust are asking supporters to donate to the West Cheshire Foodbank this Christmas.
The club will be collecting items at the upcoming home games with Darlington on 1st December and AFC Telford United on 22nd December to help those people in our community who are in crisis.
Donations can be dropped off at the Community Trust gazebo prior to each match, or at the Swansway Chester Stadium ticket office between 10am and 4pm on weekdays.
Donated items will then be delivered to West Cheshire Foodbank to help feed local families and individuals in need.
West Cheshire Foodbank has provided the following list of items it needs most this Christmas: UHT milk, UHT juice, cereal, tinned potatoes, coffee (100g), biscuits, tinned custard, pasta sauce, curry sauce, jams, cup soups, instant mash, toilet rolls and toiletries.
The following items are also required: tinned vegetables, tinned tomatoes, Pot Noodles, tinned fruit, spreads, rice pudding and Christmas pudding (no alcohol content).

Chester FC have joined forces with Big Yellow Self Storage for this year’s Christmas Toy Appeal.
The Sealand Road-based storage company, who provide free storage space for both Chester FC & Chester FC Community Trust, are running their annual Toy Appeal once again with the aim of providing under privileged children and families, presents to open this Christmas. Last year’s appeal raised over £12,000 worth of donated gifts which were then distributed to local charities in time for the big day.
The Blues are inviting fans to donate new toys and gifts to the appeal, and already have a Donation Station at the club’s ticket office at the Swansway Chester Stadium. Saturday’s game offers a great chance to drop in a donation to the Toy Appeal.
Jeff Banks, business development manager and toy appeal co-ordinator at Big Yellow Chester, was delighted the club are again helping out with the Appeal, “It’s great to have the support of Chester FC and the Community Trust too, for this year’s Christmas Toy Appeal. Last year we had an amazing number of gifts donated to the appeal by the generous Chester fans, and I know they’ll rally once again to help us deliver presents to local children and family charities, as well as the Children’s Ward at the Countess of Chester Hospital.”
Banks continued, “I think we all take it for granted that everyone has a present to open on Christmas Day, but that wouldn’t be the case in some homes were if not for the Toy Appeal, so we really appreciate any contribution that can be made, no matter how big or small the gifts or toys are. All we ask is that they are new and unwrapped in order for us to help deliver them to those who are in need this Christmas.”
Donations can be made at the Chester FC ticket office during office hours, and can also be dropped in at Big Yellow Self Storage’s reception on Sealand Road, next to B&Q. The cut off for donations is Tuesday 18th December.
