Chester FC’s home match against Blyth Spartans has been postponed today due to Blyth progressing in the FA Trophy. This match was scheduled for Saturday 2nd February at 15:00. Unfortunately the FA Trophy 3rd Round clashes with that date which means that we will have to endure yet another break.

Might be a blessing in disguise. Time for players to recover from injuries and they won’t fancy coming here on a Tuesday as much as they would a Saturday.

Time to make that competition midweek surely? At this level, where players are playing around another job, it’s silly to have teams sitting out a Saturday.

They are the form team at the moment.

With us not in action due to Blyth Spartans being in the FA Trophy, is anyone off to a game tomorrow afternoon? I will be taking in Wigan Athletic V QPR in the Sky Bet Championship.

I shall be doing better things than going to watch teams I neither support nor have any interest in.

Think he meant Wales. Wonder if he considers Lloyd Marsh-Hughes or Dan Mooney or Iwan Murray “enemies” when they’re on the pitch for us...

It finished Wigan Athletic 2-1 QPR in an entertaining encounter. Wigan were probably the better side although QPR gave it a good go towards the end as they hit the bar and had various other chances.

Took in Shrewsbury v Luton with the visitors winning 3-0.
Hatters were surprisingly poor, score definitely flatters them. Two soft goals and one which was a complete fluke.

I see some sort of fan took a swipe at the club on twitter thinking the game was off due to a Frozen pitch instead of looking for the real reason

Yes I’ve read through his previous tweets which are basically just contributions to BBC’s Points Of View.

Si has made the correct decision in locking the thread about my videos, although I’d just quickly like to quote on what somebody said.
Chislenko: ‘’Personally have never understood people who watch a game through any recording device, be it camera, tablet, phone etc. I would rather just watch the game unencumbered by the distraction.’’
My reply: ‘’Firstly, I watch the game through my own eyes (not a camera) and only record whenever either us or the opposing team are on the attack. Also, I used to record as it would provide myself and other supporters to have an extended viewpoint on the game to look back on key events, whilst it would offer an alternative view from the stands. You may not be aware but I volunteer for a couple of hours at our home games and pay for coach travel and admission at our away games so have the flexibility to do whatever I find enjoyable in my own way. I have said this so many times as it is very unlikely I will be able to record the action again. However, I will still publish vlogs because I don’t want my channel to die down and already have ideas in place on how to construct future videos!’’

Not sure you are helping yourself here Rio. First you acknowledge a thread has been locked, so you post your response in a different thread to continue the topic. Secondly, knowing that you shouldn't be recording, you go to another club to do it. i also wonder whether Deva Chat could be held capable for unauthorised videos being shown .

Took in Shrewsbury v Luton with the visitors winning 3-0. Hatters were surprisingly poor, score definitely flatters them. Two soft goals and one which was a complete fluke. Just to follow up from a day out visiting the Slops.
Been to the New Meadow a few times with us but never walked it from the Rail Station before today. It’s a long one (2.5-3miles) and I ended up crossing half a public golf course as well, it's much more out of the way than the Deva is, our place feels worse though because it’s essentially at the dead end of a road that not many people have reason to go down in the first place. They put on Buses to the local Park & Ride and Town Centre which helps them. Fair play, 6,859 the crowd including 1,300ish from Luton.
One thing that came to mind was that so many of our fans just pay, go in and go to their seat. At Shrewsbury there’s a lot more going on to keep you enthused, temporary portable bars outside the ground for example. You then go in and there’s a concourse area which goes the whole stand length through with people watching tv's and chatting to others whilst having a pint (in the warm, inside). They’ve also got a professional behind the PA switching songs regularly, cutting out the quiet parts at the beginning and ends. That’s admittedly not much but comes across as infinitely more professional than Cleggy playing a song in it’s duration and then waiting several seconds for him to switch a CD over in silence, all whilst hearing him do it as he leaves the microphone on. Amateur hour in all truth. Doesn’t seem like much but the little kids near me seemed to notice it. In terms of what we could do, especially with ground improvements planned, is knock through stands and create proper concourse areas inside them, that improves the matchday experience ten fold IMO.

Notice that Stockport won at Harrogate in the FA Trophy yesterday, keeping their good run going. It appears that if they can get through one more round then we will lose out on a Saturday home game against them next month as it falls on the same date as one of the semi-final legs.
