It’s a complicated issue and Assange and Wikileaks must be thanked for exposing US war crimes. However, in recent years Assange has got far too cosy with all the Alt right / Roger Stone / Infowars / Trump and Farage mob. Also far too many unanswered questions remain about his alleged sexual assault for me. Just hope he gets treated humanely (he didn’t look well) and gets a fair trial. |

I hope we don't extradite him, mainly because it's an unequal system. When an American pilot killed several British soldiers in a clearly marked as friendly vehicle in the Gulf War we weren't even allowed to go over and speak to him never mind extradite him for manslaughter.

Make no mistake, the guy knew the consequences of his actions against the Behemoth that is the US & yet he released the tape of US strike helicopters shooting dead a young family in Iraq & much, much more.
The Swedish charges was an act of deception. Take the press heat off the leaks & onto the leaker. I don’t want to downplay ANY sexual crime, but let’s put it in context.
People can kill innocents with impunity, go on illegal wars, kill millions, devastate an ancient country & it’s culture. Repeatedly lie to the electorate. remember Rumsfeld osama bin laden cave complex, like a James Bond set. Fictitious.
These are the real criminals. They walk free amongst us in security cocoons paid for by the tax payer.
This happens to all revolutionaries, & yes Assange is a revolutionary, a cyber one, a freedom of information one. And he will probably go the way most revolutionaries go. He may be saved the execution but incarceration for a mind like his will be insufferable.

Positive news from court today - the US request to extradite Assange has been turned down.
My concern is that the decision was based solely on humanitarian grounds; whilst it is obviously important to focus on a prisoner’s mental health and well-being, that the judges neglected to touch on the issue of freedom of the press is a worry for our democracy.

Without taking sides here as i really don't know enough about him to make an informed decision, any extradition to the US should be given the middle finger until they hand over the completely vile Anne Sacoolas.
