Many of us will have shopped in his supermarkets and I personally frequented the one we have.
I would vote an applause on the 85th minute as that is how old he was when he died.
I dont know what it is with Morrisons at the moment, but with Brutus dying in the Saltney store as well its been a tragic time.

We did have a minutes silence for a drug dealer, and yes its 'just a cat' but some cared about Brutus (who could have been a blue!) and with Ken going too it might have just been something others thought appropriate.
I am not saying a statue or anything silly - but just an announcement at half time perhaps?

Was this man connected to the club or local area in any way? Other than his chain having 2 stores in the City?
Did he live in the area?
Was he a Blue?

Should we also hold a minutes silence for Mr Tesco and Mr Asda? They get enough of my money every month....

I think it's a good idea. He often campaigned against biasdry in football and god knows we've faced our share of it recently.

Over £2000 has been raised to build a statue of Brutus by the local community www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/brutus I think people are misjudging the feeling out there. We could perhaps make a donation to that cause as a club? The ground is a stones throw from the old Saltney store and the new one is only metres further away. Who would be the best person to speak to about getting an announcement made or perhaps place a symbolic wreath at half time, perhaps cat sized one if people have an issue?

What has the cat dying got to do with holding a minutes silence for Ken Morrison?
Or are you holding a minutes silence for the dead cat instead?
I could donate one of my kids stuffed toys. Think he's got a cat up there somewhere. Maybe we could hold a mock burial and sing a hymn before the game?
Get the players to wear black armbands.
I'm sure that what they would have wanted.

To be fair, the passing of Brutus hit us all hard. Buying a salad box will nevee be the same again (hopefully he's not in it).

Morrisons supermarkets and Morrisons Construction are different companies unless anyone gets confused. Wouldn't give the latter a minutes silence at anytime. Might give the former a minutes silence if it had some ironic value in annoying the latter.

Thanks big si - will contact the club.
I will see if we can do something at half time, and perhaps a bucket collection to put towards the statue.
Anyone else with any ideas, or stories on how Brutus or Ken touched you, or 'pawed' you? We could even put something in the programme about the best shopping stories from Morrisons locally, I mean we have all had some great 'whoops' bargains!

Just to be clear on that, I meant pawed by Brutus not Sir Ken. I do not think Ken would paw at anyone, he strikes me as a man who had a firm wolf like handshake - another Chester link!

I'm sure if you could pose your question to the club via the Q&A Session on Twitter tomorrow. Bet Alan and Mark would love to hear how Ken touched you.

£2,342 now raised for the cats statue , know locally the cat was a big personality in the entrance of morrisons Saltney and will be missed , as for ken not sure the likes of us knew him.

That is an amazing sum raised. How much is a cat statue usually?
If I turned up with some buckets would anyone be able to print out a picture of Brutus / Ken to stick on? The buckets are orange B&Q ones as Morrisons did not sell any.
I am trying to leave a message with the club about a half time announcement, but can people spread the word of the 85th minute applause on Facebook and Twitter?

I dont want to tell people what to do but those in charge might want to close this thread in a few days as the other update thread has taken over, but perhaps leave open if others want to pay tributes first ?
