So therefore we should be seeing top class entertainment instead of all the boring tedious style of play. If you paid top dollar to see the Rolling Stones for instance you would expect something more than a mediocre karaoke performance If you go and see a band, you don't get another band on the same stage trying to stop them playing well. I have a feeling eyeswideshut meant to say 'wouldn't say that was over priced' rather than 'would' Would agree with this. We have to remember football is only what both teams make of it. The Eng v Ger game was full of good quick football as well as periods of lull after the vast amount of subs were made second half. The qualifier was a bit like attack vs defence training, which is a tedious watch but football is also a results business too and if managers find a style that gets results, that's keeping them in a job and giving the team the best chance of getting results.

When was the last time we beat a major nation in a competitive game?
I can't think of anything other than the 1-0 v Argentina in 2002 and that was only a group game.
Before that it was the 4-1 v Holland.

No it's not just you, it is boring as are many of the Premiership games. A lot of the time it is like watching a game of chess. How often do you see about 20 short passes being made without gaining an inch. Our level of football cannot obviously compete with the skill aspect but for me it's a damn sight more exciting. Not seen that many Exciting Chester games this season to be honest - or last. So you didn't enjoy Dagenham, Dover and Sutton?

Before that it was the 4-1 v Holland. England have basically never knocked a major nation out of a tournament on foreign soil. Outside of England, we've won just five knockouts games ever - against Paraguay, Belgium, Cameroon, Denmark and Ecuador. Not a record at all worthy of a top nation.

I went to the game, as someone who barely follows Chester, never mind the Prem, and had to keep checking the scoreboard for who was who. I thought the 1st half was quite dull, but the 2nd was decent. Lithuania, came out more attacking and it opened the game up. I don't think football is that exciting a game to watch though tbh, or am I not watching the right games.

Read my post again and tell me where it says I've not seen any exciting games this season ? I said, I've not seen many, and the fact that of the games you've mentioned, two took place in August, and one on the very first day of October, and we are now nearly into April, kinda proves my point.
