I think so because they are hiring the venue.

The fact that Liverpool have an under 23 side tells you everything that's wrong with premiership academies.

I am not sure that Liverpool have been very generous in the past. I think they paid £500/match plus gate money, bearing in mind Liverpool ST holders got in free. Chester had to cover the cost of stewards, floodlights, food etc for our visitors. In addition they offered a pre season friendly, only to renege on the offer as they did't have a team available, only to find that a team was available to play at Wrexham shortly after. I get the impression that they take the view that it is an honour to host them and do not to expect them to pay fair remuneration.

To my best recollection I think we received a lot more than £500 from Liverpool.

It can only be a good thing to host Liverpool u23 fixtures, it will boost finances and raise our profile. Are games shown on Liverpool tv ? It should be clubs mission to try and get Liverpool to send a strong team to play us in pre season, I know they will be touring overseas and have a busy schedule but we could play them at start of pre season . We would get a huge boost with a good crowd and sponsorship , something we never get in friendly games as we always seem to play low key opponents. Maybe they have some young players to loan us for next season too ?

I remember before last season we played at home against a Liverpool XI and won 4-0 watched by over 2,000, more than we get for matches against Macclesfield and Barrow.

If its the same as in the past we get 2 grand plus gate money and liverpool pay all expenses. If we can get them regular its a good little earner. Bar is not open for under 18 games, I think at the request of liverpool.

The Blues bar has been open for all of the Liverpool games as I've been to them all and had a cup of tea in the bar for everyone of them, I suggest Whopper1 you get your facts right. If you have an issue I'm sure the bar manager would be happy to discuss.

The people who work behind the bar are NOT volunteers ,they get paid so the club have no excuse for not opening the Blues Bar . I am sure the bar staff would have loved a few extra hours

Liverpool lost 1-0 tonight, although it was a cracking strike. Just for reference the blues bar was open because my dad went in there. The attendance was 335 including only one ball boy 😁.

I happened to flick past LFC TV on PayTV over here last night and they were running a replay of the match, trying to explain to my mother why they were playing at Chester was another story...
