There's an interesting documentary on BT sport atm about training up referees. Jason Jarrett is heavily featured on it.
However, Googling him, it sounds as though he wasn't happy with the training system and has packed it in since the documentary was filmed

He said of refereeing “Actually not kicking the ball was the hardest thing to learn. And don’t tackle anybody.”
Surprising really, he excelled in not kicking the ball and not tackling for us.

Because he is an ex player he can't referee any games for teams he has featured for and that's why he has jacked it in, he only recently found out about that rule.

HAHAHA Blockhead you're spot on. Tbf when he was with us a travelling fan(cant remember who) told me he'd battled depression for a long time and he spoke about it in the Salford city documentary. Your comment did make me laugh but depression really isnt something i'd wish on anyone. I wish JJ all the best.

Looking at the amount of clubs he had it was no suprise to see him Jack it in. Shame really, cus I think the game could do with some ex players taking up the whistle. It was. A great documentary. Disgraceful what happened to the senior Welsh gent. Nobody should every lay hands on a Ref. Although the strangler had a fair point!
