personally I thought Macca made a dreadful and bizarre error in dropping Lynch - a Keeper playing out of his skin at present - don't get me wrong Roberts is a good keeper but to drop a keeper who was playing out of his skin was in my opinion foolish with his confidence he may have even saved the Penalty - let's hope lynch returns at Dagenham

Maybe Walsall threatened to recall Roberts if he didn't get a game soon?

As above, I think McCarthy feels obliged to give Roberts time on the pitch, otherwise Walsall are probably going to wonder what the point of him being here is. We’ve got two good keepers at the moment but I can’t say I wasn’t disappointed to not see Lynch out there on Saturday given how good he looks at the moment.
Roberts was at fault for conceding the penalty as well, he passed the ball straight to Miller when looking for Vassell.

Maybe Walsall threatened to recall Roberts if he didn't get a game soon? I would think that you are correct. They spent time getting him fit again so I would imagine they wouldn't be too happy with him being on the bench with no game time. My thought is that it's not often a sub keeper gets on so why not send him back and put our youth keeper on the bench instead?

It's a tricky one, Roberts & Vassell probably car share and I doubt we would want to upset Walsall by returning their player. I think it's a nice problem to have 2 decent keepers.

Maybe Walsall threatened to recall Roberts if he didn't get a game soon? Think you are Bob on here, surprised they would let him stay unless we gave them a guarantee of games. i think bringing Roberts back in was always going to happen but the timing was odd, away games at Dover, can think of an easier game to make a return.

I think we were all caught out by exactly how good Lynch has been since he came in but if you have a player on loan for a season his parent club will want him to play. Besides up until his injury Roberts was pretty damn good.

They are both very good keepers. At the end of the day, Lynch is ours so he should get the nod as he has been in terrific form, however Walsall will think 'what the heck Is Liam Roberts doing at Chester'. So he should be getting game time also.
