Chester FC have been drawn at home against either Crewe Alexandra or Tranmere Rovers in the Cheshire Senior Cup Quarter Final today. It states that the tie will take place on Saturday 8th February at 19:45, but I’m sure that will change. The tie between Crewe and Tranmere is set to take place on Wednesday 29th January at 19:45.

Can't see the Cheshire Cup taking precedence over the home game with Blyth Rio so I'm sure you're right that it will be changed from that date

Who ever we play they will probably send a youth side with a few fringe players. Chance of a decent gate if we pitch it right though.

The dates initially stated on the Cheshire FA website are always the end of the "preferred" week for the ties to take place. It is really up to the teams to come to a reasonable compromise. In the last round Warrington and Sandbach even swapped the venue around to get the game out of the way. Both Crewe and Tranmere play their U23s or equivalent in this competition with an odd smattering of returning 1st teamers. The team to avoid is Nantwich, who always put out a strong team. Am I right in thinking that we haven't played Crewe in any kind of competitive game since reformation?

Just for confirmation, we will now face Tranmere Rovers at home in the Cheshire Senior Cup Quarter Final as they beat Crewe Alexandra 1-0 away last night. A date for the tie has yet to be confirmed, as it still states on the Cheshire FA website that it was set to take place at 19:45 on Saturday 8th February.

That date is just a place holder for the end of the preferred week in which the tie will be played. They haven't played Senior Cup games on a Saturday for at least 20 years.
Should we get past Tranmere (pretty much the reserves although I see that Connor Jennings played against Crewe last night), Warrington Town, Nantwich Town and the winner of Vauxhall Motors and Hyde United await.
