Scored a hatrick on his debut for Alfreton Town. Amazing turn around.

There is definitely a player in him. He was guilty of trying too hard at times for us, which can happen when you're restricted to 10 mins off the bench and under pressure to show what you're about.

Never did much in my humble opinion . . . but was surprised we let him go out on loan with George Waring being out long-term.
Good luck to the lad though. Brilliant confidence booster for him last night.

Brilliant confidence booster for him last night. Started the game and centrally, seemed to make the difference than coming on for 15 minutes here and there on the left wing for us.

They've got Hereford on Saturday, hopefully we'll be back talking about more goals Saturday.

I am not getting to carried away over one performance he has done similar for us in the Cheshire senior cup as a one off performance, let’s see how well he does after three or four games then we can see if he can become the goal scorer we badly need.

Yeah good point, smashed it in the senior cup so a hat-trick in the league means nothing really.

I wouldn’t say that but what we need is a consistent scorer no someone who goes mad twice a season, let’s see how the rest of the loan goes.

There’s a player in there. Not been helped with playing him out wide. We’ve done it so many times to so many players. But as said above he has to prove that he can do it consistently. Good luck to him.

He scored for in the Cheshire cup but only got on as sub the next game so he never got the chance to have a run in the team. He will now so we will see what he's capable of

The managers are in a difficult situation with players like Elliott. I see a decent player and think as a central striker we would see him in his best position. But what would the reaction be on here and the terrace if they dropped Asante to play Elliott. What would happen if he went a game and didn't score. The managers would be crucified. I think they have made a good decision to send him out on loan and get some game time. If he scores 4 hat-tricks in his loan spell then we get him back and get him in the team. But lets see what happens in the next couple of games. One swallow does not a summer make.

As i said on another thread, Matty Hughes needs a loan too, he looked lost vs Darlo Spot on. With George injured we badly need a different option uptop. I thought Dudley was pretty poor despite winning on Saturday 3-0. In that hole behind Asante you need to work you socks off as well as provide quality on the ball, not seeing much of either currently. Hughes main attribute is buzzing about, lively and harassing defenders, he looks a bit one paced at present - although I seem to recall this happening to him previously. Similar to situation with our centre midfield, G Stop and Robbo cant play 90 minutes x 3 in a week, it needs Glendon or a Burton to come - they are both fit and can both offer a difference so one is needed to come in for me.

Has just put Alfreton 2-0 up Can we recall him? I'd leave him the whole 28 days and get plenty of games under him, He's got 4 games left. (Ineligible to play against us)

Another example of a player who looks devoid of confidence and ability here but can go out and look a different player. Will he be able to come back and perform at this level?

That's because Alfreton are playing him in his right position - as a striker - not stuck out on the left hand side of midfield.

This player needed match time and playing him a whole game for us would have be a gamble especially when we have players scoring goals in the early stages of the season, he's now in the habit of scoring goals , he's growing in confidence and when he returns it can only be a useful option for the mangers in the run in. The loan period has be a useful for all parties especially Danny and in fairness to him he's agreed the loan and also the club has had some financial remuneration. BLB

Cheers for the advice, pal. Are your hands sore from all the happy clapping? BLB If he comes back to us on fire, scores his chances and gives our front line a kick up the a@se, that would be great - and just what we need in the run in to the end of the season (and hopefully play offs).

A class act who hasn’t been given the chance to play to his strengths.
