Once again we played in the yellow kit at York when there was no colour clash. What is the reason for this? Have they not washed the kit since Tuesday. How is it for the players, but I think it is psychological to the fans we love to support our team of blues.
When we won the first promotion after reformation we played in a change strip at Garforth but the blue shirts came out for the presentation. The blue kit meant something then.
The blue of the current kit is a bit wishy washy but at least it is blue. The sooner we get back to propper Royal Blue and white stripes the better, and to wear them at every opportunity with pride.
We are Chester FC, we are Blue and proud. COYB.

I thought "away kit" was a change strip for when there was a colour clash only so called because the home team keep their colours and the visitors change. It's not a regular convention as we have played in blue away.

Probably Cus we were playing away Hasn’t stopped us before. I agree with the OP, we should be wearing our home colours at every possible opportunity unless there is strictly a clash with the opposition. I never liked it when we wore various away colours at Wrexham for example, although ironically our most famous win in recent years there came in a purple kit.

No teams should ever be wearing their second strip for a local derby

You only get a certain number of washes and wear out of the kits before they look shabby so teams tend to rotate to avoid expenditure on replacement. Similarly given we played in Blue on Tuesday the turnaround to wash , clean, pack and transport would have been tight

Who'd want to buy an away shirt the first team only wear a few times a season?

Can remember back in the 80s Norwich City never wore an away kit as they were the only side in the old 1st division that wore Yellow, until Watford were promoted.

And what was that abomination Norwich wore at the weekend at Newcastle (no colour clash there either!)
