I've not heard anything on or side. Rooney is one game away from triggering a second year in his contract (something Mills apparently gave to every single signing)
Last we heard Keates and Rooney were renegotiating a new contract. I think Keates wants him just doesn't want to pay the apparently high wage he's on. So it depends on him really. He can sit out the rest of his contract but he won't get picked to start.
If Chester wanted to bring him back you'd have to offer more than we are prepared to pay. That doesn't seem to fit into McCarthys philosophy.
I quite like him but wouldn't be that bothered if he left.
