Despite today's poor result, I think the 3 away wins on the bounce have all but secured our status as a National League club for next year.
Woking still to play York and Braintree to play Torquay, so two massive games there with the maximum all teams together can get is 10 points. I just can't see that happening, so think we'll be okay...Just.
There certainly has to be a lot of thinking done over the summer though. We certainly need to more of an attacking unit next year, with likely replacements for Sam Hughes and James Alabi needed. the football has to be appealing for the fans to return.
I think the board Were right to give McCarthy the contract extension at the time and don't believe anyone saw that anything other than a positive at time considering the run we were on at that point. Contract talks would naturally have been taking place prior to Christmas I'm sure, and nobody would have predicted the complete turnaround in form to come at that point.
Keeping the faith.

Yes we're safe. We don't need any more points to stay up and the likelihood is we will get a few more before the end of the season anyway. 21st will go down with less than 50 points. People need to calm down on here, we're going to finish midtable that's an improvement from last year enjoy it!

I assuming by your analysis that you view this season as a success. I am however debating whether to renew my season ticket and CFU membership.

You lightweight!! It's the misery that keeps us going. Supported them 42 years and seen a lot worse, some people need to get a grip.

Given your admirable positivity, and yes I saw Chester in the early 1980s as well, it is rather alarming that we may not win a home in 2017 this season. Despite some pretty pitiful seasons (not even including the Vaughan debacle) this is pretty close to the worst Home form for many years and clearly not in the interests of the development of a fans run club dependent on gate receipts. But as you say we (fans) should get a grip......Brilliant.

The only way you couldn't see this season as a success is if you thought we could do better than mid table at the start of the season. If you did think this I'd think you had unrealistic expectations but each to their own.

But if current form continues we will finish just outside the relegation places which is not mid-table, and personally I think we should be aiming high than that. And is it not too much to ask that there are at least couple of decent performances or even a win at home since Christmas. In any event, this is all academic, as a large chunk of our fanbase have already shown what they think, whatever you think expectations ought to be.

As reported last week in the non league paper and BT sport are we actually safe from relegation very worried after today ! Our goal difference is a lot better than the sides below us and probably still would be even if well beaten at Lincoln and FGR. Therefore teams would have to reach 53 points to relegate us, which seems extremely unlikely.

Assuming we don't get hammered at Lincoln and FGR and maintain a better goal difference than the teams below us, it means that we are safe if 2 of York, Braintree and Woking fail to win 3 of their last 4 games.

Has anyone actually worked out all the permutations, and can mathematically say we are safe? ...... whilst I'm here, since xmas 1 point from 9 home games (plus forest green in trophy) That's over £150 spent down there for 1 measly point. I've had enough. When he replaced burr I said on old divy chat that he was just an extension of burrs right arm but happy clappers were too busy singing his praises as he had won a game or two .Sack macca now. It might cost us a lot now but will cost more in the long run , i.e. 2 seasons time when we are in the conf north. I certainly won't be throwing another pound down the drain to watch that shite again this season, and judging by the sparcity of the harry mac yesterday I think others feel the same.
