Evening all.. Saturday sees the first fundraiser that we've put together at Chester FC to help raise funds for what is an extremely uncertain time for clubs like ourselves. Please be assured that in the background, we are doing everything we can to keep this club afloat, but we need your help. A few days ago, a few of us met to try and come up with a way to get everyone together on what would've been a matchday, so we really hope as many of you as possible take part, to help make it work. The idea of the Chester FC E-Matchday was to replicate a home matchday and allow you to donate by doing things you'd normally do on matchday, but by having a bit of fun with it online whilst still raising money for the club at the same time. Here's the link to get involved: www.chesterfc.com/2020/03/20/back-the-blues-e-matchday-fundraiser-starts-tomorrow/There are Easter Raffle tickets to snap up along with a host of virtual matchday items that you can buy (which effectively is a donation to the club), so please spread the word, get involved. I really appreciate these are uncertain times for everyone and we're all in this together, so let's join forces and get through this! Take care, but have some fun tomorrow. Jeff

Just had my pre-match pint.
To keep it realistic, we should run out of virtual pies at half time.

Absolutely brilliant idea. The buy in from the fans, players and management on social media is really heartwarming.
Nice one Jeff and team.

Must have been a decent performance and good result given the lack of pages associated with the match thread...

I am sure the queue to get out of the car park will not be as bad as usual.

Brilliant from those that bought into this. But we need more for the next home game. Doesn't matter if its a pie. pint or programme every penny will help our club.

Wanted to say a big thanks to everyone who contributed today on our first E-Matchday today.
To raise £2k was bloody brilliant, and when we first talked about it the other day we felt that based on the suggestions by some fans that we could pull something together that would enable the club to help us get through this uncertain time.
I hope those that took part today online really enjoyed it, big thumbs up to Albert Davies for running the day today, and please spread the word as we are going to do it all again next Saturday too!
Don't forget Easter Raffle tickets are still available on the web store, but we'll also look to put a few new 'virtual' items on the store too to add to the fun.
Thanks Jeff

Perhaps to add to this experience there could also be an actual e-match occurring? So either a re-run of a previous live game (e.g. Chester 2-1 Wrexham), or a Football Manager / online version of whoever we're meant to be playing?

Great idea to engage people. Hopefully 2k is just the starting point.
If it was replicated for every one of our home fixtures during the break, I'd pay my admission and I'm sure plenty others would too. Well done everybody.
