Reportedly facing bankruptcy over the recent Covid pandemic, Zoo initially believed they would be able to open their doors to a restricted number of visitors via a pre booking system, that idea has been quashed by the government today leaving them with the prospect of a £24mill gap in their finances.
Several petitions doing the rounds on social media.
Bad times

I had an email this morning asking if I could continue paying my monthly direct debits even while closed. Every little helps.

1. Chester Zoo is a charity and not a private venture with “capital” in the Governtments eyes.
2. Unlike schools, which are soon to be Covid-19 hotbeds housing mutliple people in small, indoor rooms, Chester Zoo does not provide childcare for their parents to return to being “economically active” units of profit production for their paymasters.
