I have been on another site where people were throwing insults at each other with comments such as effin Welsh bxxxxd English and so on. I was born in England but always put my nationality down as British whenever filling in forms such as passport. driving licence.etc.so I was wondering do other people have their birth place as their passport nationality or like me put British as that is what I thought we all were.

No, but my Mum was born in Wales. Nothing against the Land of Song, it’s a lovely place. |

I live in Wales and have done fr 35 years. My question was more about how people see themselves. I know some people put English on their passports and it just seems a bit divisive as we are all surely British.

Is it possible to put "English" on your passport? England isn't a UN country.
Also say British myself. Not big on Englishness.

I believe the question is state nationality so English would be a correct answer. I have seen quite a few with Welsh on them.

Is it possible to put "English" on your passport? England isn't a UN country. Also say British myself. Not big on Englishness. Pretty sure it isn’t possible on a passport. My standing is the same as yours too. |

i meant the application form my error what ever you put it is automatically put down as british citizen on your passport but i have seen earlier passports with welsh or english even scottish on them

The United Kingdom used to be part of the EU you are still part of the UK therefore you are British, do you think Germans French Spanish Italians etc putting EU as their nationality/citizenship |

Remember the days of English fans rioting abroad? Remember Swansea representing Wales in Europe? They had a bit of crowd trouble away and were widely reported as "Rioting British Fans." They only became British for more sensational headlines. A lot of foreigners don't know the difference, English hooligans or British hooligans they're all the same.
