Are currently barred from competing in the National League North play-offs due to ground regulations - they've released a statement saying they'll appeal. It does seem harsh as you're no longer allowed temporary stands that you are then supposed to replace with permanent ones over the summer (or something like that anyway). Poole Town are in the same boat too. I'd quite like Darlington to come up too so I hope they win the appeal.

I hope they don't come up. Their "supporters" have caused trouble several times at away matches over the past three seasons. We don't need that at Chester. Keep them down till they learn how to behave.

Would rather see a traditional opponent of ours like Darlo came up than the likes of Chorley or Fylde (although they look like winning the league). Yes there's been some instances of trouble involving a minority of Darlo fans but some might make the same complaint against us for how a small number have behaved at a few games since reforming.

Every team in this league and the ones below have their share of idiots who look to cause trouble including ourselves, it's a bit unfair to single them out for that reason

There's team in this league who hardly even bring a coach full let alone any knobheads with them.

Would love to see them at the same level as us again. Had some great trips to Darlo over the years and their fans were always game for a laugh. Very similar club to us. And have really been through the mill in recent times.

I would like them to come up as I've never been to the new ground. Hopefully they'll win the appeal.

I agree, Darlington is a proper football club, very similar to Chester, being fan owned and belonging at National League level at the minimum. They have the potential to hold their own in the FL should they be able to overcome FA hurdles, and again like us, find a way to compete with the proliferation of bankrolled hobby clubs. T he clowns running the FA are cluless about finances lower down the pyramid, they only care about their precious PL, where bankrolled clubs are just about ubiquitious. fan owned clubs are a threat to people who believe it normal that football clubs should be bought and sold like commodities and run with little or no community imput, these same idiots that allowed Englands first franchise club MK Dons, and should it ever be considered in the interests of corporate money I would not be surprised if it happened again. Those that criticise fan ownership put the problem the wrong way round, its not fan ownership or wider comunity ownership that includes local councils etc, that is faulty, its the corporate regime that see football clubs as shinny commodities to be bought by egocentric billionaires..or even Gulf States ( Man City).. and then use their financial resources to bypass the hard work once needed to build a successful football club.
Good luck Darlingtion, prefer them visiting the Deva than Fylde, Eastleigh, Forest Green et al.
