Unfortunately due to our circumstances we rely on the gates to pay players wages so we can't go and get the best players. Until Christmas we were excellent but it comes a time when players need bringing in and strength in depth is needed. We've practically had to use the same players week in week out bar a couple of free cheap signings.
I expect a lot won't agree with my opinion and I'm not a happy clapper deluded by the great mid season run, it's a results business but when we have very limited resources unlike several teams in this division it's hard to compete.
3 years to the conference with a target of 5 and a Football League target by our 10th season, we've got the people in place to bring in different types of income and different ideas to make the Football Club bring money in but it doesn't happen overnight.
I do agree that the board need to do something to sort the decrease in attendance but we'll need to wait and see what they do and hopefully with a pre-season break they will eventually come good and what they're getting paid for pays off for us!

So what about Macclesfield Town with a lower budget than ours it's not all about budget it's about hAvington a shrewd Manager who can muster a good small squad but strengthen when needed with impacthe signings all of ours are either bench players or sit in the stands - how do Accrington survive or Leicester win the league it's about getting the right manager to get the most out of the budget - Mccarthy since Sharpes left has been totally clueless

JM is out of his depth, the real test of a managers credentials is how do you cope when the going gets tough, the answer is diabolically. Since Boxing Day we have been on a horrendous run of form. Let's not forget the unbeaten run consisted of a lot of draws, other than a few very good results this season we haven't outplayed many teams even during the purple patch. I have seen enough in the last 4/5 months to make a conclusion that JM isn't a good enough manager at this level of football. His decisions have single handedly cost us games and points this season and every post match interview is a joke, it's embarrassing to listen to and he point blank refuses to acknowledge this awful run of form. What kind of message is that giving the players of the manager is backing them regardless of how we play or the end result. His failure to be honest and open about the current situation worries me and makes me think he believes he is doing a good job. We will stay up this season, only just but we all have to worry about next season. This summer will see our 2 best players leave in Hughes and Alabi. Vassell will go back to Walsall and we will see our lowest season ticket sales since the dark days of our former club. The objective at the start of the season was to stay up and we will achieve that but I am looking at how we have performed over the last 4 and a half months and based on that the season has been a failure.

I have never written on this board, I have supported Chester since 1974 season, what surprises me about this season is how our form has gone under the raider in the national press and television.i think partly because of this Jon has dodged a bullet. Macclesfield town, are the model to follow, and while we may have got back to our level, they are never seen to be in trouble and season in season out are flirting with play offs.In all my years of support, even in the good times it did not feel like it was going to last. In the current situation I would be happy with stability and from this we would get the reputation of a solid dependable team. From this the manager would not be the centre of discussion.Jon is not him.

We've tried numerous Managers now. I'm really starting to think the problem with our club lies elsewhere. Sacking another Manager won't make any difference.

good shout and we could save a few quid as he only works for expenses, he told me that at bromley last season, top bloke, first one in, last one to leave, he even does beans on toast for the groundsman after he's walked around for a few hours with his pitchfork
