Opinions please on the lads home debut Monday. Positives for me were great header for his goal, and looks like given a bit of time and space as if he has a decent left foot. Negatives, clearly never a wing back and has no pace. Regularly skinned especially first half and didn't even look like a footballer and was surprised to see him second half. He kept going though, didn't hide and may improve for fitness and game time so I'm not going to right him off yet, just needs to play further forward where he looks a bit more comfortable.

Agreed - still early days Can cross a ball, just need somebody on the end

His actual position is a forward so that's why he looked odd at wing back. In the latter stages yesterday he proved to me that he can play in a more attacking role. Great header as well.

Definitely not a wing back. So again, questions asked about the manager. The poor lad got torn a new one in that first half. As OP says, was suprised he came out for the second half. But fair play, it showed character to score a great header and show some nice touches. There looks to be a player in there but for me now, I have lost faith that the manager can develop these lads to the required standard.

Difficult to judge a player that we've only seen playing out of position, but it was a superb headed goal to be fair and he did look to whip in a cross at every opportunity.
That's what i don't get with Macca, he seems to mothball players for ages to protect them and then goes and plays Davies for 2 full matches in a position that must be unfamiliar to him.
The Woking game was crying out for Hunt to come on towards the end, but he left Davies on when everyone could see he was shattered and Vassell needed more help. Even Waters would have been an option.
