I’ve just heard the awful news that supporter Stanley Wilks sadly passed away yesterday. Stanley was a well-known face on the front row of C Block next to one of the entrances, and he attended every home game through thick and thin in all weathers, up until the point when spectators weren’t permitted due to Covid. Some of you may remember our club putting together a special video a few years ago regarding Stanley being our oldest season ticket holder, and I quote him as saying ‘’I’m here rain, snow, or sunshine’’ which shows just how dedicated and committed he was to his beloved club. Stanley had been going to Chester games for 83 years which is incredible, and he will be a huge miss at the Deva. My condolences go out to his family in these difficult times. RIP Stanley 💙!
Here are a few tweets I’ve found of Stanley renewing his season ticket in 2017 👇:

Very sad news, I've said hello and had a chat with Stan almost every home match for 30 years. Never knew his surname but from his time on the Harry Mac to moving to the main stand he's been an affable and dedicated supporter. Football allows you to get to know people without any parameters other than that of a shared passion and love for the club. Can't take the sort of dedication he had for granted, a lovely bloke. x

RIP Stan. Always enjoyed having a chat with Stan on the back row of the Harry Mac, and in later years saying hello after we graduated to the East Stand. Nice man, will miss looking out for him at home games.
