I'm always a bit on the fence on this sort of thing really. However wicked the crime, I don't like the idea that someone can't possibly reform and has no chance of getting out of prison. Only those who have observed him closely can make a judgement on that I suppose.
Some characters can't be reformed though. I've read that Norway has no life sentence, so Breivik will one day be released, even though he's completely unrepentant and will likely commit a similar crime again given the opportunity.

It doesn't matter whether some 'professionals' think he's a reformed character or not. He raped and murdered two 15 year old girls he should have been left to rot in prison. Apparently he's going to be under the close supervision of the Probation Service when he's released, well that's alright then because he'll have to report to a Probation Officer once a week that should stop him raping or murdering anyone else so everything's fine. |

There are certain crimes that I believe life should mean life and killing and raping 2 15 year old girls is one of them

And you said that people who 'hurt animals should be locked up'. Just checking for consistency of position. |
