He’s been very honest that he didn’t get vaccinated as he was busy, regarded himself as young and fit and having had it mildly once, didn’t think he would have any problems with it again. Fair play to him, he is being incredibly candid about choices he made that he now regards as poor. Best wishes for a quick and full recovery. Must have been a frightening time for him and his family

Good to hear he’s on the mend (No it’s not me). Can’t see him being in the dugout for a while though having read his story.

Its still alarming the number of people that underestimate this virus.
Its also quite shocking the number of selfish older people now walking around shops not wearing masks because they have been double jabbed.
Well yeah, but not everybody still has and these people made enormous sacrifices to keep you safe at the beginning of the pandemic, including losing 20% of their pay when they were told they could not go to work. We didnt see a 20% reduction in the old age pension at that time as there would have been an absolute outcry.
Lets all do our bit, get the vaccine when you can, but until then, lets treat the virus today as we did on day one and all look after each other.

Jonno was foolish in not getting vaccinated and you rant about older people ? I saw many younger ones not wearing masks or social distancing when pandemic at its peak so stop being ageist.Oh and you try living on a State Pension of £10k but you want to deduct 20% from pensioners ? Are you for real?

No he isn't, as he clearly didn't suggest anything of the sort.
I swear your username is tongue-in-cheek - you're the msot miserable, argumentative poster on here, forever picking fights. Never known a "happy clapper" like it.

My unscientific observation yesterday in a large store was that the greatest proportion of people not wearing masks seemed to be either men under 35, often accompanying mask wearing ladies, and “middle aged” women. The older population seemed by and large to be mask wearing. Let’s hope Jonno’s experiences and candid self appraisal will encourage more to think hard and get jabbed.

No he isn't what ? What are you talking about ? 1 Jonno should have got vaccinated which he readily admits 2 Ranting on re older ones not wearing masks and suggesting those on £10k state pensions take a 20% cut is lunacy. 3 Happy Clapper is my most suitable title until I come across your political tirades.Come on Mancot we all know you are always right and here you go again having a go at me yet again. Just read my post again and tell me my logic is incorrect and why ? Cheers ! 4

No he isn't "for real"; no he did not suggest OAP's should have a 20% reduction in pension. You're putting words in his mouth.
You're forever picking fights with numerous posters on here, it's nothing to do with mine or anybody else's politics or moral compass. Not a very "happy" clapper.
Were you going to make a fourth point?

Are you for real? Try reading my post again. I mentioned older people, not old people, by that i mean people old enough to be fortunate to have been offered both vaccinations. And nowhere did i mention advocating pensioners getting 20% of their pension deducted. I mentioned that an awful lot of people had a 20% deduction forced on them, and a lot of these were on minimum wage.A lot of these were unfortunate to actually lose their jobs too. That's quite a sacrifice to keep everyone safe, i think its only right that those fortunate to be fully vaccinated (and i include myself in that) offer our younger generation the same courtesy in keeping them safe until we are all equal. If thats too much for you to understand then i really cant help you.

Just to summarise for Mancot's benefit(repetition for emphasis). 1 Jonno was a twit not getting vaccinated but hope he gets well asap 2 Older ones are not the cause of any rise in cases; younger unvaccinated ones are whether deliberately refusing to get vaccinated or not their fault in being in a lower age group and not entitled to a jab.
Ok now ?

Can you draw graphs too?

Ok yet another post descends into stupidity and no one in my eyes has the excuse they are to busy to get vaccinated against Covid, you sit and watch your mum die from Covid and then return to work and look after people with Covid and watch some of them pass away aswell. I understand some people get very little symptoms or effects from Covid but some people will be seriously ill and are you really willing to take that chance ? It is a no brainer for me and I would urge you all to get vaccinated against this virus and believe me i have seen the worst of it, If only I could turn the clock back two years my mum would still be with me, instead all it has done for me is bring me loss grief and made me want to leave a job I have enjoyed for 26 years. Sad but true.

Thank you for caring and I am very lucky that I do have good family support behind me, It has not been easy for me or my family but we have supported each other and that is what counts. What really worries me is that some people seem to get so complacent about this virus and I have seen the worst of it from a personal and a professional point of view and believe me it is no joke. For me it has just made me think after 26 years of nursing (rightly or wrongly) I would just love to do something normal without all the politics, I just want to stack shelfs or mop floors without all the responsibility. I am not a trained nurse but an HCA so we are well down the list on the pecking order but it is us that provide the day to day care without little or no respect, trained nurses in our days are to busy doing paper work and drugs because of litigation and our job role has expanded beyond a joke with little or no credit, even our pay is reviewed separately and is getting close to the minimal wage, it really is a joke.
