If people are happy with how it’s currently being ran then they shouldn’t be disappointed when we’re averaging 1000 a game Come on, don’t be a clown, we’ll never average a 1,000 a game. We need to accept where we are and what size of club / fan base we have. Getting back to the original point of Wrexham; they have a huge catchment area, ground and now the marketing to back it up. Historically we’ve never averaged more than 3.5-4K a game even in our 70/80s peak. We don’t have the niche of being biggest club in north Wales, pulling on the welsh casuals etc. I’m optimistic for this season and think we’ll go close. [br

Im very positive about this season, and I’m sure we will be up there,…but smaller owned clubs we are competing with can hold on to their best players and even improve their squad when it comes to the sharp end …we will take the default setting and look after the coffers, which is no bad thing…but it just puts us at a disadvantage when needing to improve our team and push forward…I still absolutely believe the right person will one day come forward and invest …so until that day…keep supporting…

Depressing post. There's no logic to moaning about being supporter-owned when we haven't had a serious offer of investment in over a decade. It's what we've got. If you can get involved and help it work better, great. If you can't, stop whinging and asking someone else to do it. Its depressing having to listen to your comments. Didnt we get an offer from Mr Murphy. Yes, that only an idiot would have accepted Sorry you were taken in by it.

I see the Goats have passed the 6,000 mark for season ticket sales. I must admit its embarrassing being a Chester fan when them lot down the road can get themselves out and build up momentum to get that number of season ticket sales. And what is it we say "FAN OWNED IS THE WAY FORWARD ". Absolutely rubbish. We will never get anywhere with the same die hards pumping there own money into the club to raise a fee quid. My lad played at goals in a league last week and said there were 2 lads there from Wrexham in tracksuits trying to get people signed up to the Wrexham fan club. OMG it's on our doorstep. I played last night and asked how many people roughly play at Goals in a week. They couldn't give an exact amount but said well over 1500 play weekly. I asked if a representative of Chester FC had approached them and they said NO. This is just one example of how little we have come. We will never get the kids back in the stadium whilst bring fan run and playing in this poor league. It's a fact. It really is a sorry state . Rubbish, private ownership does not always equal investment. We have seen previous owners use us for their own purposes and run us to destruction. Wrexham have not won anything yet and if they don’t the thousands of hangers on will disappear back up the hills with their Woolley back friends.

I really think we need to get over what's happening down the road. They've had a once in a lifetime takeover. Move on, accept that they are going in a different direction, be thankful for what we have and take delight in every defeat across the border (although they will inevitably be promoted)

Good luck to them. Our fans were deceived by Smith and Vaughan and it seems they haven't learnt from their well meaning neighbours. We can but say; 'We told you so'. Prefer the shoes we are in.

Didnt we get an offer from Mr Murphy. Is that the same Mr Murphy whose company Exacta Group plc have an outstanding loan of £8.3 million falling due in the next year according to recent accounts ? It would help the chances of repaying that loan on time if Mr Murphy repaid the £4.5 million he has borrowed from his own companies. The 927k owed by the 1885 Sporting Village Ltd to the Exacta Group would also help.

Reynolds just seemed to be suggesting a club rename on the radio, to the Wrexham Red Dragons.
Please let it happen 🤣

Please let it happen 🤣 😂😂😂 this isn’t an American sports franchise it’s a non league football club with average attendances of 5,000. For every good decision they make, CEO from Burton, Mullin - they seem to follow it with some crack pot idea. I want it to unravel into an attack and defence coach like Terry 😂😂😂

It's likely they'll roll over to get their bellies tickled whatever the pair have in mind.

Reminds me of the Hull Tigers saga that petered out in the end. I don't know why foreign investors, particularly North Americans, are so obsessed with this idea when it has no history of success.
Clubs here are about the town they play in. They have an official nickname, and by all means market the hell out of that, but it doesn't need to be part of the club's name. Seems to be too subtle for some of them.

Rugby League went all Americanised with their team names, Wolves, Rhinos, Warriors etc. That's fine if they all buy into it but in football it will only ever be the odd one. Perhaps it will only happen when we all start calling it soccer.

There’s calls on their forum for their Supporters Trust to give up/sell the lease of the ground to R&R. The Trust currently own the lease and sub-let the ground to R&R for an annual rent.
Those fans should be bloody careful what they wish for…

See they have been clearing the old Kop at their ground ahead of the new gateway project at the station. Their council have applied for a "levelling up" grant also to improve the look of the main road into Wrexham town centre, from which they want to build a new stand. Can see student accomodation going up there, with the new Kop being like the old supermarket end at Hulls old place.

They couldn't sell the ground for development because they wouldn't own the ground, they'd be in possession of a lease on a ground owned by someone else surely and besides they're Hollywood stars do you really think they need to knock down a football ground in Wrexham to make a few extra quid? We really are getting a bit obsessed by the whole Wrexham thing and it's looking embarrassing. This is a Chester fc message board and there's numerous separate threads about Wrexham on here, none of them started by Wrexham fans. We need to concentrate on our own club rather than obsessing over one 12 miles down the road surely.

That’s always been the way - on Oldco DC as well. I was always shouted down for suggesting we seem to hate Wrexham more than we support our own club.
However, this discussion has developed into the wider subject of giving up supporter ownership and even land/ground and all that entails from a supporter-owned view.

However, this discussion has developed into the wider subject of giving up supporter ownership and even land/ground and all that entails from a supporter-owned view. Even to think or suggest that if two young multimillionaires with a net personal worth of $170 between them and mammoth wealth of marketing knowledge coming in too buy and invest in us would be absolutely absurd ... we would soon blow that notion out the water and poo poo the idea im sure...i presume most of us just got a little too over excited about 65 year old Stuart Murphy's so called "investment" and his Village Model Idea at first.... .... But ...we do need Investment or otherwise we will just stagnate and supporters will just drop off, we wont climb up any leagues and will continue to play and accept football at a poor standard....we need an investor with real money and real idea's , we've seen what's happened up the road... who say's it cant happen here.....but it has to be the right person or persons...ive always embraced the fan owned idea..but truthfully it really doesn't work..

Tongue and cheek, Daniel Craig 007 , he said he's not leaving his money to his kids and wants it to go to good cause or Huw Jackman or wolverine , he apparently hates Reynolds and said he wants to buy Norwich and stuff Wrexham, we need to tell him we are better value and are good at that :-)

Am I right in thinking that Daniel Craig is a Cestrian? In which case he'd be better off investing in his home town team and taking us above Wrexham. That would really piss off RR

Just saying 🙂

Heard a Ryan Reynolds song on Saturday that, whilst being very funny, is probably libellous and won't be making Granada Reports any time soon
