I know this will cost but we are at a critical crossroads in our History - the decision to offer Mccarthy anot extended contract was crazy but was done and we need to act now on this accept the error and the loss of vital funds and act - the loss of season ticket income and dwindling crowds will be far more painful and could put us in real danger as a fans run club - we don't expect to earth support this great club but lessons must be learned that experience counts and never again offer ridiculous long contracts on the basis of a few months decent form - We will probably just stay up on goal difference thank god so need to get in an experienced Manager sorry Macca you tried but failed - Board it's up to you this is critical

If, as Jon says his objective was to keep CFC in the National League, he has not failed Do you have any confidence in McCarthy for next season Richard? Precisely. This is a manager who has presided over a diabolical run of form and is still harping on about a run of results on October and November. I'd have more confidence if he blatantly stated that it wasn't good enough and that changes would have to be made. I get it that we are not the richest club in the league but it's the manner if the results over the past few months that worry me more than anything. Don't get me started on recruitment as well.

We stayed up despite McCarthy not because of him.

If, as Jon says his objective was to keep CFC in the National League, he has not failed Do you have any confidence in McCarthy for next season Richard? Look, I'm hurting like everyone else and its been a torrid time this last 4 months. I don't think that sacking Jon is the answer. Neither do I buy in to the Sharpes effect argument. Our best 11, fully fit is a match for most teams in this league. If I'm being honest with you, I didn't get too excited when we reached the heady heights of 7th as I was always very concerned that injuries and suspensions would find us out in terms of squad size and overall quality in depth. Equally, Jons capability to strengthen was very limited in the sustainability balancing act that is the reality of our model and that's not his fault. Given the tools and the time, I do have faith in Jon McCarthy

It's a dangerous strategy though because if you are wrong (and I strongly suspect you are but would be pleased to be proved wrong!!!) it'll be too late next season to avoid relegation.

He could help himself by just being honest and apologising to the fans who pay good money, but this head in the sand attitude has only served to alienate him from the fan base and naturally people are now concerned about the prospects of watching this team led by him next season.

Exactly that ^ would it have really hurt for Mr Positive to have come out and said, players are playing for their future here. As with the best season under Burr it's all become a bit cosey. JM and the players have jobs that some people would truly give their right arm for, and yet we have an atmosphere around the place that this is as good as it gets. Like it or lump it, or just don't come to watch, like many have started doing. How about creating an environment of competition. If you don't do the business, I have another lad here who will do. i realise we are what we are and where we are but it doesn't mean we can't aim for better.

Your right, it's not Chris' fault but it is embarrassing having an assistant who doesn't turn up half the time.I would get Shaun Reid in any day of the week who can fire the players up.

McCarthy is insulting the fans intelligence with his media interviews, and it's starting to become embarrassing to listen to him. He's not doing himself any favours with this attitude. My biggest worry is he actually might believe all the shite he's been spouting in recent weeks !!!

Are the Club really prepared to gamble on Mr McCarthy being successful next season, despite convincing evidence over the last 4 months to the contrary ? If so, very difficult times lie ahead both on and off the pitch. I do not share the optimism of other posters on here, and despite the propaganda from Richard, given the grossly poor record and performances since mid December commonsense would normally dictate that Mr McCarthy should no longer be in position. Or, is it the case that the Club is either unable or unwilling to pay up his ridiculously extended contract?

Richard, didn't you advocate keeping Burr last season even though he was a lazy chancer? Was that because he brought you a pint of Bombardier in the Blues Bar? Hardly the best person to endorse on that basis! I see Armani's helped send two teams down this season.
