In his prime, what would he be worth in today’s market? RIP Jimmy

Great, great player in his day. My era and remember his exploits well. Probably wouldn't be as prolific these days with modern offside rules and the dreaded VAR but one of the best. RIP Jimmy

His 44 goals in 57 games for England is outstanding, and achieved in times when we were not playing the Andorra, San Marino type nations.
In my mind that makes him the best England goal scorer of all time.

Interesting question given the current lone striker most teams use as a battering ram, is how would players like Greaves, Fowler, Law etc fit in?

Never saw much of him as a player, but Saint and Greavsie was a part of growing up a football fan for anyone my age.
RIP Jimmy, scourge of Scottish goalkeepers everywhere.

RIP Jimmy I think that the offside rules were much stricter back then. None of this 'not interfering with play crap' if any of your team were offside, regardless of whether they were pàrt of the attack the goal was scrubbed off. Defenders in those days were assassin's not footballers. Greavesie was prolific at every club he played at RIP Jimmy
