Should these pitches be allowed in this league? Personally think it gives the home team an unfair advantage.

No. Football should be played on grass.
At our level you can't go down and train on it before hand, so should be banned. Problem is, having one is a financial benefit as you can hire it out all week. You can see the attraction from a purely monetary viewpoint.
The only benefit from us getting stuffed twice on 3G/4G pitch means we are less likely to have one at the Deva now.
If we got one I'd seriously reconsider watching us. Luckily I would expect the CFU members to vote against having one.

Agree. I want to see football played on grass. They should be banned. Whether they give an unfair advantage is a moot point - Sutton have won only two away which suggests yes, but Maidstone's record is similar home and away. We've shipped 9 goals in 2 games and I was unfortunate enough to witness both. We seemed to approach both as a training game, with players staying staying on feet rather than making proper tackles. They didn't seem to fancy it and no lessons were learned after the shambles in the first 15 minutes at Maidstone One of many failings which needs to be addressed next year or else it's 6 points thrown away and a serious dent in the goal difference. There were a lot of goals from outside the box at both games, possibly due to the true surface. We need to close down better. The counter argument is whether you'd rather watch football on the disgraceful pitches at Eastleigh and Bromley (where we won both).

Plenty of land around the Deva to put a 4G pitch on. It would seem that a lot of other clubs can gain funding for having one built too. Turn the Blues Bar into a cafe during the days when there are no games on, and you have a facility for refreshments too.

No. Back in the 80's almost all of the pitches were awful, but were still played on GRASS. Our pitch at the Deva is one of the best in the league and I like it. I wouldn't like our pitch to be artificial as it would make the whole place look really odd. Football is a sport which should be played on grass, not fake grass.

I have been on Google maps with a ruler and measured it. If you take the width of our pitch from wall to wall as you need a run off, it cannot be fitted into our car park. Can anyone else get it to fit without encroaching on other people's property.

The council own all the farmland between the ground and the river also. The field across the lane behind the clock end was suggested in the past.
I'm sure the club are working with CWAC on this as Chester is very short on community football facilities.

There's also the land where the old car scrap yard was next to the tip, its huge and unused, sure the council own it
