Didn’t last time did it? Wrexham sold out. What a shame. Not sure. I think last time the season had been curtailed anyway. But we had that issue with hosting the outdoor cinema due to the toilets being in Wales didn't we? I lose track of the Covid timeline.

I can see everyone having to play behind closed doors after Boxing Day. If we were to be forced to play behind closed doors because part of our ground is in Wales would we be entitled to some of the £3M that the Welsh Government is promising to support clubs or will they deem us 'A bit Welsh but not Welsh enough to receive any money'.

Yes, you could be right there about everyone being affected soon. It's not looking too good. If we did end up being hit by some sort of Wales-only restrictions, then it would be Welsh law that mandates we play behind closed doors, so I can see no logical reason why we wouldn't be entitled to support. Then again logic doesn't always seem to come into it.

That cinema farce was because it required a special events license.
Last December we played Hereford & Bradford PA with 500 crowds whilst Wrexham had to carry on BCD.

Last time when we went into full lockdown we were able to bring back a capped attendance when all of Wales were still locked down so I think at the moment we’re ok but it’s only a matter of time before England is next

Yeah the Welsh Gov have been two weeks ahead of the U.K. one throughout the whole pandemic so would expect similar lockdowns and behind-closed-door games for us sometime soon.
A return to live streaming hopefully.

If it wasn't Christmas next week they'd have announced restrictions already. The longer they wait, the longer they'll be in place. Like last year.

I think the only effect the Welsh government can have on us is if they change the rules on selling Alcohol as the licence is with Alyn and Deeside council. In all other respects it's Boris the clown.

I think if as owners, and therefore part of the working team we all bring cheese and wine to the game we should be fine.

Here we go again.
Can we not even consider the possibility that we can't shut the whole country down every time there is a respiratory virus (and it looks like this one only affects the throat and not the lungs)? So many people I know have left Deva Chat because they find it an echo chamber where only approved opinions aren't clobbered.
So here goes: If fans aren't banned from going to matches I will be delighted. If any fans are worried by the current media coverage of the latest virus then I think a flexing of the rules to allow them to watch at home would be in order.
I think at some point we have to accept that we won't eliminate harmful viruses by staying indoors or have an honest conversation about our new approach to life which seems to consist of trying to.

Ridiculous decision. The evidence for any kind of major transmission at outdoor events is basically non existent, plus you can still go to the pub etc. and this sets a dangerous precedent of just having an annual period without crowds. Ludicrous.

It is a strange one to close stadia but not pubs and restaurants but it is a reminder that the restrictions taken in Wales, and other devolved nations, are still very much dependent on the U.K. Treasury’s say-so. If the U.K. government doesn’t give the Welsh government the funds to bring in restrictions across the board there’s not much they can do.
I do think, as above, the U.K. government will follow and our games are likely to be impacted. Think the only reason the U.K. government haven’t put similar in place yet is because of the revolt from backbenchers and murmurings of a leadership challenge. Bit sad really when political careers are prioritised over public health.

I think at some point we have to accept that we won't eliminate harmful viruses by staying indoors or have an honest conversation about our new approach to life which seems to consist of trying to. If only it were that simple. You can't really have a situation where people are being turned away from hospitals, treatment delayed, cancers going undiagnosed and yet large scale entertainment events being staged. The argument that they are outdoors doesn't really hold water - public transport, car sharing and socialising around games are all part of the equation. I think it's pretty widely accepted that allowing Cheltenham and Liverpool vs Atletico to go ahead in 2020 cost lives (pre vaccines of course). This decision has to be driven by Covid related hospital admissions. If, as you say, the effects aren't serious, we can hopefully have some sort of equilibrium where infection rates are very high but the NHS can cope and we can all make our own choices about going to football. My understanding is that we're not at the stage where we can say with any confidence that the health service will be able to deal with Omicron without further restrictions. And to be fair, the restrictions are not being driven by the media but by health professionals. Arguably, if Boris wasn't in such a mess politically we'd already be going down the Wales route.

Not sure why you don't feel you can express an opinion like that. I'd agree, largely. I was fully supportive of lockdown while we had no vaccine, but now I just worry that all these on-off regulations are just draining everybody's happiness and mental health, which shouldn't be taken lightly.

Likewise, I have previously been fully supportive of lockdowns etc. when needed, but what happened to learning to live with the virus? There is nothing more anyone can do than get triple jabbed and get on with their lives now.

How's about we just have a full scale lockdown where nobody can leave the house again only this time we have it for the rest of our lives. That ought to satisfy the scaremongers.
All these variants will keep presenting themselves so just deal with it. A lockdown won't do a damn thing when they reopen up everything & wonder why the cases will rise once more. Bloody Ridiculous. How sweet of them though to let us all enjoy Christmas.

Of course cases will rise again when restrictions are relaxed but in the meantime if you or me falls off our bike we might just get a hospital bed without having to lie in a corridor for half a day, or wait for hours for an ambulance. Now that really would be bloody ridiculous.

People wetting their beds over the idea of ensuring our health service can cope as best as possible. That’s what’s embarrassing.

Just stop complying with all this useless embarrassing nonsense or it'll never end.
